Inner Monologue, PT 2

Context: She's gaining a better understanding of Roth and why he is the way he is. This is the resulting inner monologue.
She loved on him, safe in the knowledge that he was asleep and wouldn’t protest her need to attempt to heal what he didn’t even know was broken. The need to give was an innate need she stifled all her life. No one wanted her love or affection. Not her father, sisters, even her husband. Men were only interested when it came in the form of sexual favors, but had no use for it otherwise. Behind every badass bitch was a little girl who had been rejected and hurt too many times to count. She poured everything she had into her characters. She fed them her lifeblood and they touched people around the world. But for now, she had an abundance she wasn’t filtering into her characters. So she would give it to him and hope that it penetrated his fortress. Not for her benefit, but maybe some other bitch in future who would never comprehend a fraction of what he’d been through.
When she finally rested her cheek at the top of his spine, arms and legs hugging him tightly, she failed to notice his hand was balled into a fist.
