FREE SONG - "PROCLIVITY OF LIES"

Proclivity of Lies is the fourth song on Abney Park's album Scallywag. 

Lyrically, the song is about how much humans seem to prefer nasty rumors to truth. Its a sad condition; the entertainment value of a scintillating lie seem to trump anyones need to find proof of the rumor. 

Some one, be it the press, government, or less then loyal friend, will make up a lie. They announce it as "I think janet is having an affair!" or "Janet is an alleged ____", and all the people of the world will get excited. They'll repeat the story, "Did you hear janet is a cheater?  Thats what the news said!" And this gossip will shoot around the world, gaining "facts" and momentum as it goes.

I'm friends with a lot of famous people. And I'll tell you, they ALL have stories about false rumors that hurt their career, yet had no truth. An great example is the time Abney Park was accused of trashing our hotel rooms after a performance in Florida. We, of course didnt...Kristina actually CLEANS hotel rooms when we leave them, since the hotel deposit is often on our credit cards.

But just this year we played a show in Florida, and the promoter brought up "that time you trashed your hotel rooms" (which never happened).

Musically, my goal was to make a pop song the russian fans would like. I use all the abney park tropes they love so well, from big dance drums and orchestral strings, to back beats, and mens choirs. I think it sounds amazing.
