This Month In Retronauts: November 2023 edition

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Whether you live in the United States or not, I (Diamond Feit) hope you ate well this weekend. Our latest community podcast is ready to serve as background listening as you do dishes, reheat leftovers, or begin your holiday shopping.

Joining me this month is Jess O'Brien to talk about the latest retro news and releases, share what we've been playing/watching lately, and read your comments and feedback. Also, given our shared American heritage, we do "talk turkey" so to speak; you'll want to have a pen and paper handy to write down Jess' recipe for her signature Thanksgiving dish!

Don't forget to answer our latest community question in the comments below. Also, since I live in a nation where Thanksgiving does not exist, any images of your meal would be most welcome as I live vicariously through others' food pics. Specific media mentioned in this episode include:

Comments

Two Retro(nauts)-related things I’m thankful for. First, this year I’m really thankful for Digital Eclipse and their respectful and engaging approach to video game history. I’ve been working my way through Atari 50 and the Cowabunga Collection and will soon move on to Karateka. The world needs more developers like them. Second, I may be a shameless kiss up, but I’m particularly thankful for all the Retronauts gang and the show. I discovered Retronauts in 2018, just in time for me to leave a job and go back to school full time after over a decade away. Retronauts was there during my move, during tough semesters, during freezing Indiana winters and sweltering Midwest summers. After finishing school and another move, for the first time in a long time—heck, maybe the first time in my life—I feel like things are on track with a new home and a career refresh. Retronauts was with me through this whole journey. I’m thankful for you all. Also, just adding my voice to the throng: 10 years might as well be retro. 20-year-olds can be nostalgic for stuff they were playing when they were 10, and you have to draw the line somewhere. 10 is as good a number as any.

It's obvious Jess's book would be about Gex.
