And in keeping with tradition, my best efforts to structure this in a way that would allow us to get through all the planned years turned out to be for naught thanks to Benj and Jared dropping some major Magnavox Odyssey Knowledge Bombs. A podcast that allows information and conversation to get in the way of the intended schedule? That'll never fly.
Anyway, yes, we delve 50 and then 40 years into history to look back from the year ahead. Not a lot happened in 1972, but apparently what few things did happen were quite momentous! And we talked a bit about 1982's major events, though there's plenty more to be said on that front... someday.

This was SUCH a great episode! Terrific set of guests and host. I was on my phone googling the games and looking for pictures of the things and places you talked about while listening. It was so fun! Highlights included the Pong stories, which I rewound to enjoy again, Xevious' influence, and Namco's 82 lineup. It never crossed my mind that Dig Dug and Mr Do were reverse Pac-Man games where WE made the mazes. And I was OBSESSED with Mr. Do when it showed up at my local party store (It gave you free lives and games for pulling off certain 'kills'). At the end, I bookmarked everyone's twitters and sites and purchased Jeremy Parrish's NES Works v2 (can't wait for the others to be reprinted!) so the fun can continue!
