I have to say that the ending Dhalsim’s ending in Street Fighter on SNES was the first time I saw blackface or something similar to it. I thought it was weird that he had a gremlin child and what looked like mud all over their faces. I couldn’t quite put my finger on why, but the images left a bad taste in my mouth for years. It wasn’t until many years later did know about blackface or minstrel theatre.

2019-02-16 01:01:24 +0000 UTCThe last time I went to Japan and visited Anata No Warehouse I somehow manged to get a giant stuffed Kirby on my second try from a UFO Catcher. I was not expecting to get it at all considering my performance at a separate arcade the night before though I did manage to get a Space Invader plushie there, not on a crane machine but on one of those games where the light goes around and around and you have to try and stop it on a certain square.
