This week's episode made for kind of a tough edit, since both segments involved remote (international!) interviews via Skype with some significant audio issues to overcome… but here we are. Both interview segments involve games inspired in large part by Metroid Fusion; I hadn't originally intended to put them together, but it really just makes sense for these segments to coexist. Both Scurge Hive and Iconoclasts draw on Fusion for inspiration and feature lively lady leads, you know? They're two very different creations, but they definitely feel like kindred spirits…
I don't know if many people will be excited by a deep-dive into the making of Scurge Hive in particular, but this segment meant a lot to me personally and I'm happy to have made it happen. — Jeremy
Description: Nintendo never created a follow-up to 2002's Metroid Fusion, but this week Jeremy interviews the developers who did: Dan Kratt and Graham Scott, who put together DS/GBA cult classic Scurge Hive, and Joakim Sandberg, creator of Iconoclasts.
