Retronauts Micro 67: Little Nemo

Sorry for the brief delay on this one, but I think it's worth the wait. On our latest advance Micro, listen in as we talk about all things Little Nemo: Windsor McCay's legendary, influential comic strip, the 1989 box-office bomb it inspired, and the two Capcom games spun off from that movie.

I appreciated the throughout discussion of the original coming and the film. I think I've read a good bunch of the original strips as a kid thanks to availability in the library here, I guess they got published in Finland at some point and in some form. Or maybe they were just excerpts in some history of the comics books..

Honesty, there are very few Nintendo-Hard games that can’t be made quite fun with a little bit (or a lot) of save-scumming. Yea, I get the argument that the game wasn’t designed to be played that way, but I don’t think that’s relevant because it was designed to be played by 12 year olds in 1990 who got two or three games a year and had nearly infinite amount of time to spend on those games.

Bob, what's the musical interlude that plays around the 20-minute mark? That was good.

The climb up that tree with all the puffballs dive-bombing you is UTTER HELL.

Played this game again the other night. For a game that functions very well It is ridiculously fucking hard. I got to level 3, the train level, and gave up. Even in the first 2 levels, there are parts of this game that are downright unreasonable. It is impossible to get to the top of the tree in level 2 without taking a few hits.
