Yes the pressure is crucial thing, Be careful with it. You should find a nice balance between cloth parameters.

Or perhaps I have the pressure too high haha

Hey, love this tutorial but when working it up it seems like the Letter didn't stick to the floor when inflating. Are there certain gravity setting I need to adjust?

Any parameter for vertex map. First key frame in the beginning second in the end of scene. Should works

And btw thank you for creating all this content, you're a great teacher!

well I was using 2023 for this tutorial and the field didn't respond to the sim. As soon as I rebuilt the scene in s26 it's working properly. What parameter would you reckon I should animate in the vertex map?

what version of c4d do you use? If it release 2023 you should animate one of parameter of vertex map. Unfortunatley is bug of this version. I hope Maxone will fix it soon.

Same here! My spherical field seems to stop affecting the geo whenever I start to move it around my simulation. Did you have this issue in 2023 by any chance?

so weird how easy this was in s26, not as straight forward in 2023..looking forward for some new tips about the new map options in 2023

Woohoo! Thanks so much. Very good to know this work around. Cheers!

Hi, thanks! Yes it possible. Especially with new c4d 2023 release. There are a lot of new features to deep control your dynamics. The new c4d just dropped so I have no tutorials with new features yet. If you already had new c4d I’d recommend use softbody tab to control shape structure + vertex map.

Brilliant technique! Any ideas on how i might be able to achieve a similar effect without the deflation aspect? e.g. model appears as normal (inflation deactivated)but when the field passes over it it selectively inflates that area.
Effectively what I'm looking to achieve is inflating an object over time from left to right.

Hey! Yes sure! I just shed some lights on this technique. Use the vertex map as a map for cloth attributes is great. I'm waiting for update for rest length and pressure in new cloth engine!

ah awesome. I was putting the vertex map in the stretch attribute and getting some fun results but this works way better!
