Something I share in common with Mr. Beast...

Unless you read my Twitter bio, or religiously devour my blog posts over the course of many years, you might not know I have Crohn's Disease (something that Mr. Beast contends with too!).

It's been active in my life since my teens, and I have the misfortune of having *severe* Crohn's, meaning I've gone through many different medications, many treatments, and a number of surgeries to try to keep it at bay.

This year I've had some new complications (meaning lots of hospital tests, changes in medication, etc.), and my health insurance (which I upgraded this year, go figure) also decided to play the game of denying certain medications and procedures the doctors recommend (always SO fun, yay US health care!).

To top things off, I ended up getting Covid (after avoiding it so long) the week after my hospitalization!

I am extremely grateful to each and every one of you, who make it so I can take a week off here and there for health reasons, and not end up destitute. I can pursue my passion of building new projects, making new videos, and maintaining a ton of open source software, and I can't do ANY of this without your support.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm not out of the woods on this current Crohn's flare up, and I thank everyone who's reached out elsewhere with suggestions for help, but please know I'm working intimately with my doctor, nurses, and some other health consultants right now, so I'm going to be following the care plan we reach together :)
