ITAEWON CLASS (Ep.5) | JERSEY COWS' REACTION

Comments

Soo ah was torn between two roads, one road for her ambitions and the other towards seroyi. By going to the road to her ambitions she will be hurting seroyi in the process, that’s why she’s like that, she likes seroyi but seroyi is the enemy of her boss

Oooookaaaaay, 1. yes Deutschland means Germany and I live for the way David said it πŸ˜‚βœŠπŸΌ and 2. I’m so sorry- idk if you guys remember it but it was like 2 or 3 episodes back were I said I’d comment after watching the whole episode and you guys actually called me out for that in your other reaction and I keep on forgetting to comment e v e r y time and I know it’s not that big of a deal but I keep on thinking about it and I just want to say I’m sorry πŸ˜₯ other then that I just want to let you guys know that we appreciate you taking us with you guys on this whole itaewon class journey and even tho I watched this whole drama already I sincerely enjoy watching your reaction to every episode and the fact that you guys break it down and share your honest thoughts about it with us is just very fascinating to me. Not every reaction channel or whatever is doing that and I realllllllllyy appreciate it, thank youπŸ’• watching you guys brightens at least my day and makes me forget about all the problems I have going on and I seriously can’t describe how much I actually do enjoy your reactions, I just hope this comment will reach you cause I feel like you guys should know how much of a positive vibe you’re giving us in more then just one way- I hope this makes sense πŸ˜… it’s like 3 am here and my gramma ain’t the best rn πŸ˜‚ I can’t wait to watch you guys reaction to the next episode ☺️ love you ~

Heya guys. First of all, me and Kevin said doo doong (netflix sound) at the same time got me laughing real hard. It's a joincidence with C (I hope you guys watch Friends haha) Just wanna let you know that I really, really enjoy watching with you guys. The way you guys react to the scenes is just hilarious. Kevin, your surprised look is adorable (^_^). David, I noticed when you get super excited, you do that thing with your hands (like shaking them, or how do you say it...?) it's cute. I really like how you guys are so invested watching each episode. Can't wait to see more. Keep it up guys!

Tbh, now that I realize, I feel like it's unhealthy the amount of your videos that I consume and have been consuming for so long lmao

A kiss without consent?? As if she didn’t kiss the guy when he passed out. Yi seo really takes advantage of everything and twist everything to fit her agenda, because of that I doubt her when she is nice, but she is funny and I love her strong personality. For Soo-ah a lot of the decisions she make I don’t agree with but I understand her motives. She is conflicted herself and hurting too. Besides, she is not lying to Saeroyi. I don’t love or hate any of them. I love they are not perfect tho, and that the characters are this complex, just like real humans.

Meanwhile...the club scene and the bus station one are just my favorite!!! Comedic genius and soooo cute! πŸ˜‚

Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhh, remember how I said my sense of Second-Hand Embarrassment was STRONG? Well, when I tell you that the ENTIRE club scene made my body seize up to the point that I had to get out of my chair, walk to my bed, and scream as loud as physically possible into my mattress...I’m not exaggerating. I think I might have actually given myself neck problems from the way my body physically rejected the entire thing. And Hyun-Yi being the girl that Seung-Kwon was gRINDING ON DID NOT HELP THE SITUATION. Never before have I felt so emotionally stressed in my life and that’s saying something because I once studied so hard for a Biology Final that I got HIVES. Thank you for the incredible reaction but I honestly don’t know if I can handle much more of this. The human psyche can only be pushed so much before it breaks.

magpie

Declared boy at birth but trasgender girl. Doesn't WANT to be a girl but IS a girl regardless of surgery.

I've watched soooooo many kdramas but this show is by far my favorite one , like seriously , it's just so good in every aspect whether it's the actors , the story. It just makes me feel so many emotions at once to the point I sometimes feel like i'm a bipolar lmfaoπŸ˜‚ I love rewatching this show with you guys ❀ and I love LOVE Yi-seo , she's epic πŸ˜‚ and I personally think that oh soo-ah keeps agitating Saeroyi on purpose to push him away so that she doesn't feel guilty about doing him wrong, that's just my opinion but i don't know 🀷🏻 can't wait for episode 6 y'all❀

Hi, me again. Everytime David's camera turns off it's like a timer for me that 30 minutes have past πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. very useful

I swear David has some of the best reactions! Getting so genuinely happy when they re-opened the pub and then getting angry seeing soo-ah standing outside. Also, when he died of laughter at Kevin's family on a plate joke and got so red! It's so cute! Kevin's also so funny to watch coz he's so focused on the screen the whole time ! Love your reaction guys. Your such genuine people, i wish i was your friend in real life, but i'll just send you virtual hugs instead.

Razmina Ali

OMG you guys said my name so many times and actually pronounced it correctly! I cant tell you how many times people pronounced it wrong growing up. I realised that no-one out of my household has called my name in a long time becuase of this quarantine and that kinda shocked me!

Razmina Ali

I'm excited to be watching this with you. I've only watched this to the 7th episode so I'm going to be reacting to the next few episodes for the first time with you guys. Also I've watched Hwarang fully and you guys are in for a ride. But other than that, thank you sincerely to which ever one of you had fixed my money problem with Patreon, cuz I really needed it to buy my grandma her 61st birthday gift next week. Much love , I hope you both a healthy ❀️

HeyItsAire_

Thank you for always reading comments here haha. And the transgender character was a woman in real life but her character in itaewon was a man that wants to be a woman. Cant wait for other episodes and i hope after this itaewon you guys react next to EXTRACURRICULAR!! that show is amazing!! And the main character there is Kim Dong Hee (he is Jang Geun Soo in itaewon. The second and the kind son). Thank you always and keep safe! 🀘

jana

well it was defintely quite confusing

strange& sleepless

I personally dislike Soo- ah because Though out the show there are things that were just straight up rude. She’s not a bad character there are times she hasn’t done anything wrong but I feel like there are things she does/say that are just not necessary and is just rude to me. Also I think you missed understood the Transgender thing bc you kept saying he. The person playing them is a female but in The show it’s about a male transitioning into a female. They are a transgender women so in the show they would be called β€œshe”. They were shocked when they saw them in the club bc they thought that they were guy but then they found out that they want to be a female. In South Korea it’s not as open minded or as common seeing transgender people or gay/bi people and showing those things in shows is also uncommon

KIKI

It was so funny when I noticed it! Because I watched these dramas when they aired, it never crossed my mind, but now that we are watching them back to back I couldn't believe it. It's so funny seeing him act all mighty and scary in IC and then all cute and funny in Hwarang, it's awesome.

Meruka Hinaru

This episode was so funny and yet covered serious issues, I LOVE IT. Korea is a very conservative country, so the media is not exposed to LGBTQ content that often, or is just approached to with comedic purposes in variety shows (some of it it's even banned or rated mature). So I was actually really touched and proud that IC, being a korean drama watched by many, was not afraid to cover this kinds of topics. Many directors and screenwriters don't dwell on LGBTQ content, being afraid that ratings won't live up or that they will get criticized by conservative viewers. But IC taps on this issues on a very human and realistic level, so I think that's what made the drama appeal to international audiences, but also I feel it taught korean audiences that this people exist, that this issues exist, to get familiar with them and being able to some extent, accept them. I love each character SO MUCH and the dynamic between them, I can't wait for you guys to watch the rest. While Saeroyi and Yiseo's relationship throughout the drama is hell of a ride, what I love about IC is that they still care A LOT about the development of the rest of the characters, so you really bond with everyone along the way, cheer for them and feel as if you are also part of the Danbam family. As always, thank you guys for your reaction! Every week I look up to Sunday, because i get to watch dramas together with you and everyone here, it's so fun! Not being able to go out with friends because of quarantine does feel heavy sometimes, so I'm glad we all get this chance to have a good time together πŸ’œ

Meruka Hinaru

Did you guys realize that jang geun won dad (jangga ceo) and the king assistant in hwarang are the same person?

lil meow meow

i love how everyone leaves long little messages to you guys now πŸ’– its so cute tbh. this show has me DYING, but my financial situation is changing a lil so ill probably change tiers, and come back in a few months and binge. im so glad you guys are so drawn in, and you feel how we all felt 🀣 i hope yall enjoy it!!πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Kerriane

I agree that Saeroyi's role is more unbelievable than Soo-Ah's character because to be honest nobody would respond that way when their friend starts working for their enemy or when they believe that they got their business suspended, and even though I do agree that Soo-Ah's decision is realistic (because even though it is selfish its just part of the hustle and she makes a very human decision ) I think people are not missing the point because in general people tend to negatively react to selfish behavior whether its justified or not. People are really social, they love loyalty and selfless acts (even if it harms the individual sometimes) and Soo-Ah so far has not shown any characteristics of those we would call friends. Also , even if she saved him from going to jail for murder I don't think it should be hailed because she barely knew him at that point. We know that that family has done so much for them and it was about the dad at that point not about their newly-formed friendship. P.s- Even soo-Ah mentions in the beginning that she wanted to be friends because of his dad.

Hermela T.

Soo-a's in a moral dilemma. That's how human is. She wants success in her career, but she also don't want to ruin her friend's life. I understand her. It's hard to find people that all good or all bad. Just want to add that I really like Soo-a's character. I assume that maybe because she's an orphan, so that's why she only care about herself.. Who else want to care about themselves except their own, right? Sometimes you got to make a selfish decision

I just love this Drama so much! And I absolutely had the same face when I found out that the bully actually called the cops :D I think because of such surprising Elements the Drama is so good and you just can't stop watching.. honestly I can't believe that you guys can wait but I applaud to your Patience!! :D Honestly Sunday became on of my favorite days because of your Posts and I just wanna say that I appreciate you both so much! ( I am in this devin shit for live lol) <3 Love you guys and see you on the next Episode of hwarang! ;)

Stefanie

When Yi Seo called Hyun Yi 'unnie' [how a female calls a slightly older female] it was so touching! She's learning! She's definitely a very flawed person but I can't help but like the character anyway since she's still capable of positive change in spite of her mental health problem (being a sociopath.) A truly complex and well-portrayed character! All of them are, actually. I think that's the main strength of this drama. No one's one dimensional and all are necessary.

You guys got a bit confused about the transgender thing there...Hyun Yi is a 'male to female' transgender woman so you're supposed to call her a 'she' not 'he'. That's why Geun Soo corrected himself after still calling her 'hyung' [how a male calls a slightly older male] and said 'noona' [how a male calls a slightly older woman]. It was just habit but he felt bad for still saying Hyung after learning about her actually identifying as a woman. He's such a sweetheart omg...the purest babie <3 LOL By the way!!! You guys should definitely watch Extracurricular at some point. It stars the same actor who plays Geun Soo and he is brilliant! Also, that drama is a masterpiece to the point that it might even be better than Itaewon Class and that's saying something. I can't decide which I like more, though. They both do very different things, perhaps that's why! It's really dark and suspenseful and so, SO unique from the script to the shots, to the message! 10/10! I've been watching Kdramas for over 10 years now and I've never seen them do something like that. Movies, yes, but dramas? NEVER! :D

By saying that it's not as accepted as in other countries you make it sound like Korea is the worst in the world when it comes to LGBTQ rights which is not the case because unfortunately they are being discriminated everywhere. Even in the States, there is A LOT of disgusting discrimination but some feel like America is more progressive just because they have more visibility these days and that is definitely important to normalizing sexual minorities and getting rid of the taboos. Sadly, that is still far from happening. Yes, Korea is a bit behind with the representation but things are slowly changing for the better. With a bit more education on this topic and more visibility in the media, Korea will surely become more progressive faster than many other countries.

Korean society has a different mindset. Being a transgender, gay, different colour isn't as accepted as in other countries. Also arranged marriage is common within huge companies so they could have more power. I don't wanna explain too much cuz DKDKTV explained it perfectly. And I'm also trying to not to give any spoilers by accident I wanna see your genuine reaction to what will happen, I really love your reactions β™₯️. Also idk if it's been there or not but Soon Ah is played by a Korean idol from group named Hello Venus.

Veronika

Also, Kevin thank you sooo much for complimenting my name lol. I will help you both pronounce it, your pronunciation was cracking me up. So KIARA is pronounced: Ki-Air-Uh like the name CIARA (Like the singer) but with a "K". Thanks again for the reaction, can't wait for next time!

Kiara

I think that people who hate on Soo Ah for 'not supporting Saeroyi' or for taking the job at Jangga are missing the point. I think the show is being realistic from this point of view because sometimes, to have a good life, especially if you started from nothing as she did, you need to be a bit selfish and also take whatever opportunity you can get. It's not like she did anything bad to get hired and then continued to get everything for free. She actually worked hard to prove herself and advance her career. And as you've seen, she is good at what she does. At that point, who in their right mind would give up their good job for someone they hadn't seen or talked to in years? For me, the fact that she still has feelings for Saeroyi is the unrealistic part but, hey, they needed a love triangle cause DRAMA lol. With that being said, I don't hate the character for this, I actually think it sends an important message but I don't like her much either. However, it's not because of what she did, I just don't find the character particularly interesting. At least for now...I've watched up to episode 7 and I'm just not a fan of her. I can respect the hustle though and can see that she at least feels conflicted so...yeah. :D Also, let's not forget that she pretty much saved Saeroyi from getting convicted for murder! Even though they hadn't been friends for a long time at that point, she still got involved and was by his side when he had no one else. In what world would she be expected to stay his sidekick for years and years after? People grow up and follow their own path and that's exactly what he did when he went to work on the fishing ship. Should she have not done the same?

I keep saying that each episode is my favorite and that's because this drama keeps getting better and better with each one. And Yes, Hyun-Yi is a She and I really love Saeroyi for being such an unwavering Ally for her. This drama really is one of a kind and it's very progressive with the topics that it covers. It will also cover some other really heavy topics as well in episodes to come. Soo Ah is a tricky character and honestly so is Yi Seo, I had never watched a drama with so many un-likable leads until this one.

Kiara

I love this you reading comments portion in the beginning, honestly feels like I'm having a conversation with you guys. Just want you to know that your content keeps me laughing and happy during this depressing time of my life. Keep em coming, I watch your straykids, got7, obviously bts, and kdramas and movies, so i watch everything. Episode 3 of Getting to know Devin : Would you rather have loved and lost or never loved at all? On that note at what age did you first fall for a girl?

Maisha Supritee Chowdhury

Yeah, Kevin's words of wisdom at the end were too good for the microphone to pick up 🀧

β™‘ Ashley μ•„μŠλ¦¬ β™‘

Seriously this drama is something different. It's so good at bringing up taboo topics and in no way does this show stop doing that throughout. Itaewon Class is the perfect kind of unique kdrama, especially as seen by the ending of episode 5 of course (good job Yi-seo *cue Saeroyi's head pats*) πŸ˜… I'm sorry, but even after finding out Soo-ah didn't report the underage drinking, I can't like her. Like Kevin said, she didn't even warn Saeroyi when she knew the police were coming. Also I wanna stan Jersey Cows too! When is the debut, guys? πŸ€”πŸ˜‚ And any fandom name ideas? All I can think of is "Domesticated Calves" (meaning your fans are your baby cows that you tamed into the fandom) and "Jersey Herd" (which plays off your group's name and pretty much sums up fans as a collective crowd) πŸ™ Can't wait for you both to see how the rest of the series plays out! ❀❀

β™‘ Ashley μ•„μŠλ¦¬ β™‘

Kevin , we can’t hear you at all , at around the time Yi-seo , cockblocks Saeroyi and Sooah πŸ˜‚

ParkMinJeon

Hyeon-yi is a transgendered female. Male to female. So yes you say her. You don’t understand how much it bothered me when you kept calling her a him after the club scene πŸ˜…

ParkMinJeon

THANK GOD ! ITS BEEN 84 YEARS 😭🀧
