Added 2024-08-12 17:55:22 +0000 UTCHey everyone, as the title suggests Apple (the company obviously) are being the stand out anti-consumer cunts they pride themselves on being. In this situation, it's because they're threatening to remove Patreon from IOS if they don't move people to subscription based billing.
This is clearly stupid as IOS users could just use a browser since they're basically the fucking same, but that's just my thoughts.
Anyway, that's the situation. I have to move to subscription billing by November 2025. Sure, it's a while away, but this is still fucking ridiculous and I'm already stressed about how to proceed.
Patreon recommends raising tier prices equivalent to how much I post, I.e. I post 3 times usually so they say to multiply prices by 3. But that fucking sucks, because there might be times when I can't do that many, and then I feel like shit for taking unearned money from you all.
And I can't just leave them as they are in this scenario since that cuts my income by more than half.
I'm gonna take some time to think about this, but I really want to hear your thoughts as well. Please let me know what you think is best here.

Yeah, it's a shit show at the moment. Plus, just checked and subscribestar is a subscription based service as well, so it doesn't change things
