When he was describing Stromberg's look, I so badly wanted Ben to know that he has webbed, fish-like fingers that were barely seen in the movie, caused from genetic mutations. I think he would have liked that.

2022-09-18 03:12:31 +0000 UTCFYI, currently I’m listening to the Podcast: The Ride episode about Dive, as recommended by Griffin, and they get to talking about Phantom Menace all-star Senator Grebleips by the 10-minute mark. Amazing

2022-09-14 04:13:29 +0000 UTCCubby Broccoli’s claim that he is descended from the family that cultivated broccoli is dubious and his belief that his family first brought broccoli to the US is contradicted by the fact that it was known to be planted almost a century prior. But print the legend I guess.

2022-09-13 21:42:38 +0000 UTCI was surprised they didn't talk about her more. She was iconic and in so many great roles.

2022-09-13 17:52:01 +0000 UTCMoore was the first Bond to appear in a tuxedo in the gun barrel, in this movie. Dalton & Brosnan did likewise.

2022-09-13 16:36:50 +0000 UTCWatched last night and just started pod… are they gonna realize how much it is influenced by—uh— Jaws?! I had forgotten how blatant it is. As a kid in the 80s watching it on vhs I was like oh haha the bad guys name is Jaws and he bites people, but this is 2 years after JAWS and so obviously going for it. Just hilarious at the beginning of pod they’re like, this is the least gimmicky and not pulling from stuff. It is an awesomely enjoyable movie though.

2022-09-13 12:51:05 +0000 UTCMe waiting for the moment in this series that Ben finds out that the producer’s family invented broccoli insert sickos dot jpg

2022-09-13 12:50:37 +0000 UTCHonestly have been finding all these Moore movies really meh and forgettable…except for Jaws!

2022-09-12 17:06:54 +0000 UTCI need Ben asking “Would you fuck with that?” as a clip stat

2022-09-12 03:14:42 +0000 UTCAny time Griffin says “big chungus” as indeed he does in this episode, I always remember one time in some Marvel commentary where he said of Thanos “I’m a chungus, I’m hard to punch,” which makes me laugh my ass off every time I think of it. The funniest thing to me for some reason is Griffin saying “chungus” without any adjectives in front of it

2022-09-12 03:13:53 +0000 UTCDavid analyzing British looks has been such a gift

2022-09-12 03:01:07 +0000 UTCben pointing out that bond hooks up with someone after like a minute reminds me of a running bit in the kill james bond podcast where they keep track of which bond girl he hooks up with the fastest (i forget the record but i believe it was under a minute)

2022-09-12 01:26:35 +0000 UTCGotta say, this was a lot more fun than the last two Moore’s. And no J.W. Pepper is a big plus!

2022-09-11 21:39:25 +0000 UTCThe hairy-shouldered faux-Bond in the cold open is the fore-mentioned Michael Billington, who was considered for Bond. He’s great in the TV series UFO.

2022-09-11 19:34:37 +0000 UTCThis mini series is really making the case for Ben to be handed the reins for the next Bond movie.

2022-09-11 19:06:22 +0000 UTCThese Bond's have been so comfy, the patreon really is overall. David's quick breakdown of British good looks is still playing in my brain and it has indeed been too long since Ben created a character. Das Boot rules. And Zach Cherry is frankly hot and amazing please get him on LOL

2022-09-11 19:02:39 +0000 UTC“Das Boot” … actual LOLz!

2022-09-11 17:33:38 +0000 UTCGIRL/HENCH TRIVIA: The Helicopter Pilot, Naomi, was played by B Movie legend and as stone cold a fox as ever walked the Earth Caroline Monroe. Perhaps her most recognizable role was in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. She also had a bit part in the original Casino Royale.

2022-09-11 17:11:33 +0000 UTCBOND CAR TRIVIA: The Lotus company heard they were looking for a new Bond car. So they parked Esprits in each direction the Broccolis could walk from their offices to ensure they would see one.

2022-09-11 17:07:31 +0000 UTCI'm so glad "soaking" finally made it to the podcast. 1990s Andy who lived in Provo and went to BYU is loving that joke that might be just for me. Thank you.

2022-09-11 15:02:59 +0000 UTCI always chose to believe the theme song was about Anya Amasova’s beau that Bond killed. IMO it’s more interesting that way.
