Paris 1000km 1964 - Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ #38

For BrianB's Alfa Romeo TZ.

Silvio Moser was one of the many rich Swiss racing drivers active in racing even after the Swiss formally banned motor racing after the big crash at Le Mans in 1955. He became one of the earliest privateers to race the new Tubolare Zagato, Alfa Romeo TZ in competition. Taking ownership of chassis 750010 early on in 1964.

While Autodelta was already putting together their own "works" racing team at this time, duties for acting as a pseudo-works team went to Scuderia Sant Ambroeus, which included full mechanic support from Autodelta. Hence, privateers often had to content with a rather unfair opponent list.

Despite being outqualified by their pseudo-works rivals, Silvio Moser and his Swiss racing driver friend Karl Foitek managed to finish 15th overall and 1st in GT1.6, ahead of the theoretically faster TZ's of Scuderia Sant Ambroeus.
