Player's Pacific Westwood 1965 - Lotus 23B #101

For Legion's Lotus 23B. If it doesn't automatically install on yours, try installing it manually. I may have an older file version, but it should be compatible with any newer version regardless.

Bob McLean is, to most people nowadays, known as the man who died racing GT40 Mk1 P/1000 at Sebring in 1966. To Canadians however, Bob was so much more than that.

Bob raced from the 50's up to 1966 in many different cars, though finding significant success in his Lotus 23B in 1964 and 1965. Winning his class and outright many times on the various Canadian road racing circuits, even going abroad a few times to the United States for some action.

At the 1965 Player's Pacific Westwood race, McLean got off to an early lead when the race started in overcast conditions, with it seemingly being a straightforward victory lined up for Bob. Downpour started not long before the final lap however, which allowed Mike Eyerly to catch up to him in his Porsche 904. The 904 was fitted with slimmer rain tires in advance, a strategic advantage over the Lotus which still ran regular racing tires. A spin ended McLean's lead, even after a frantic chase he had to settle for 2nd place, 1st in class.
