What is Broadsword?

I've loved EXIERN for a long time. Not as long as many, as I missed the original pages that posted before Drowemos restarted things. But ever since reading those early pages of Ol' Mac's narration I've been hooked. I loved how things jumped right into the action, and Typhan-Knee's predicament.

As my involvement with EXIERN and Typh has evolved, I've been asking myself some creative world-building questions; how did Typh learn about Peonie's situation? How did he actually get into Asylum to rescue her? What were those adventures referenced in that early page which lead to the close friendship between Typh and Peonie that we see already formed when Faden takes over Peonie's body? Could the ORIGINAL original adventures still have been a part of what we didn't see? Why have they been on so many adventures but still have on the same outfits?

In addition to all of that, I've also heard feedback from readers, current and potential. While I love the jump right into the main story, some have found it jolting. They don't know Typhan-Knee yet when the curse happens, so why do they care? Instead of seeing the potential character driven story EXIERN has become they see only a generic gender-swap set-up. Normally I don't let stuff like that bother me, but it does make me wonder - what if we knew more about Typh before his encounter with Faden? What would that mean when the whammy happens?

So I started playing around with what I call BROADSWORD - an expanded look at Typh before challenging Faden, and then a window into their unseen adventures.

This is not to replace the pages posted on EXIERN.com. While certain moments will overlap, those will be verbatim what Drowemos wrote and posted - just with new art to match BROADSWORD's tale. This is not an elaborate retcon - I just want to understand better how EXIERN's story started.

The other reason I want to do this is that I know a number of Patreon donors have a limited interest in DARK REFLECTIONS, especially the more censorship worthy pages. BROADSWORD will differ from the original EXIERN pages in that there will be no nudity. I want it to be something every donor can enjoy.

But this will be one more project to add to EXIERN's already tightening budget, so I must ask - do you WANT this? I have three more pages already made, but before I do more I want to know - is this a tale EXIERN's readers want to know?
