FATE/ZERO 2x10 Reaction EARLY ACCESS

Some people say Rider and Waver are the ones that suffer the least in the war. Waver learns and develops a lot from his relationship with Rider, while Rider enjoys himself until his death, like he said he would. His character is about always striving for the impossible, and going for what is "beyond the horizon", just like how Alexander the great's downfall was partly caused by him going too far, so in a way the fact he went down fighting against Gilgamesh is a fitting end.

When he said they are on par, I'm sure he was talking about Gilgamesh's gate of Babylon vs Riders noble phantasm, not Ea as he likely didn't expect Gilgamesh to bring Ea out as Gilgamesh only brings it out against foes he respects/finds worthy of it.

Tokayome knew about it, in one of the early season 2 episodes he asks Gilgamesh to bring it out, against casters monster, which Gilgamesh gets very angry about.

He did manage to get Gilgamesh's respect and Gilgamesh did draw his most precious treasures against Rider. That it itself makes me respect Rider a great deal. :)

If you end Fate/zero, I really hope you watch 'Please! Einzbern Consultation Room'. This OVA will be help your understand. Why they did holy grail war in Fuyuki City? Why Church involve this? Who is the hassan? They never say such like thing in Fate/zero animation. So, They put explanation (Include back story of the servants) in short OVA. That's the 'Please! Einzbern Consultation Room'. This is definitely help you understand Fate/stay night too. Above all, It contain back story of Fate/zero's finale . I really hope you watch this, at least your self.

While it's true that Rider got kind of completely massacred, he did succeed in doing something that few have done before: he managed to gain Gilgamesh's respect. This can not only bee seen in how Gilgamesh speaks to him (not only what he says to him but also how he says it, which is easier to see when you look at what pronouns and such he uses in Japanese), but how he fought him. When Tokiomi suggested he bring out Ea against Caster (meaning that yes, Tokiomi knew about Ea) he basically threatened to kill him for his disrespect. While Ea is EXTREMELY overpowered as you just saw it is also Gilgamesh's greatest treasure, and it takes a LOT to make him bring it out. His pride and ego means that he will almost never use it against someone he doesn't respect. And, while the chains he used at the end might just seem like a cheap trick at first glance, using them is also a sign of respect. They are after all a memento of Enkidu, the one true friend that he mentions when talking to Rider before the fight.

As much of an ass as he can be, Gilgamesh is still honorable and gives respect where it's due. That's why he's such an interesting character to me lol. And you know you're a badass when Gilgamesh stops talking about himself long enough to compliment you and he uses his two most precious treasures against you. Waver and Rider are def the best Master-Servant pair imo. Fun fact: Ea, the weapon used against Rider is the most powerful Noble Phantasm in the Fate universe. For comparison, Saber's Excalibur is classified as an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm with a max output of 200. Ea is an Anti-World Noble Phantasm with a MINIMUM output of 4000. THAT'S why Gilgamesh is so arrogant, they had to nerf him to stop him from just whipping it out all the time and sacking everyone. He only ever draws it against those he deems worthy or respects. That's why it's such a big deal he even bothered to draw it against Rider.
