Cyberpunk Review Now available!

Surprise! My new video - Cyberpunk 2077, Making The Most of Disaster, is now available! Let's talk about this very ambitious and controversial game! Sorry, it's late. Thanks, guys.

Cyberpunk Review Now available!

Comments

I think you might have misunderstood my comment slightly. It's not about the content it's about my mindset. I appreciate the response but it's a little unnecessary, I don't need to be "sold" on Suzi's content, I've been a patron for over a year now and that wouldn't be the case if I didn't already hold both her and her output in high regard. I'm also not as invested in CP77 as many others seem to be so the video is not really appointment viewing for me personally. I don't really care what people are saying about the game my problem is simply that I got sick of hearing about it because it was everywhere to the point where it became irritating for me and like I said, that frame of mind would have clouded my judgment when watching the video and that shouldn't be case. At no point have I said I'm refusing to watch it but I'll get to it when I feel like it and not before. I understand where you're coming from and that's all good but you really don't need to hype up Suzi's content to me as you're kind of "preaching to the choir" on that front. Apologies if this seems abrasive, that's certainly not my intention at all so please don't take this as an angry response. It's just a response.

Fantastic review and yes you should review Hackers.

This was a great review Suzi and I think it perfectly captures what people love about this game, while also giving the negatives without feeling the need to complain about them and how they ruined your life. I understand why people are angry but there comes a point where you wonder if it's genuine outrage. After some debating I bought Cyberpunk for my ps4. Yeah there are definitely issues with things loading in, and with the close to ten hours I've played I've had one crash. That being said, the story has drawn me in without fail. Even though the main narrative seems to be revenge, it doesn't matter because it's done well. I've only done 1 sidequest so far with Johnny giving side comments and Keanu does a great job being a lovable asshole the whole time. The last thing I'll say is that Jackie being gone actually annoyed me more than anything because I really liked the partner in crime best friend dynamic he and V had. Also you mentioned Deus Ex in your review as a great Cyberpunk game. I know you said your working on FF7 Remake next and that's a colossal task right there, but maybe later down the line you could cover Human Revolution or Mankind Divided? It would be really cool since you cover everything from the game itself to developer history. Can't wait for the next vid and keep up the amazing work.

Sadly we already live in that reality 😭 But hopefully the good from this is holding studios accountable and responsible. Then we can get back to real releases 😃

Similar in a very broad way. Chiaki J. Konaka is an amazing writer and Yoshitoshi ABe's art is so unique. I will always love Lain.

Ryan Frankenstein

Even if they do, I'd hate for it to be standard to release a game at full price with it being buggy and missing a lot of the promised features and for the devs to say "It may not be the complete now, but in a year or two, it'll knock your socks off."

T.V.Rockwell

Solid Sci-fi anime reference. I think GitS and SEL may have actually affected each other some. They both toy with a similar kind of ending for Motoko and Lain.

Devon Childers

Well... haha, more that they chose to release it BEFORE it's time 😅 I honestly pray they own their failure like No Man's Sky; and CDPR spends the next few years bringing CP77 close to the vision they had all those years ago

Devon Childers

You should TOTALLY check this one out then... don't let negativity consume you. Sometimes a small group of the loudest voices will down out all the sane ones. Not saying CDPR didn't fail. But I'm also not saying they didn't succeed. To the point-- Suzi's review of CP77 is my favorite of DOZENS of hours of hot takes I've seen... And the reason is she GETS Cyberpunk, she's super positive about how amazing it can be, even if it's not The Only Game You'll Ever Need CDPR sold it as. I was surprised at how she perfectly captures all of us fans' disappointment, while being EQUALLY as in love with it. It defies logic, but depending on your tolerance for it's bad, you'll find the Good may outweigh it for you. That being said, it's totally understandable if you want to wait for a more finished product. But don't skip this video, IMO, it might be her best on the whole channel.

Sorry, this will sound dumb but I can't bring myself to watch this yet. It's nothing against Suzi but ever since this game launched its been everywhere online and offline for me and frankly, I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing about it! All the moaning, whining, tantrums and God knows what else this title generated just gradually killed my interest in the game. I wouldn't mind it so much but I've haven't even played the game for myself yet and already I've had enough of it! I'll get to the video later down the line, once I've got some distance from the absolute circus that its release was. Basically, I don't want to watch the video while angry because it will cloud my opinion of the content and that really isn't fair.

Great video, can't wait to get this when I (eventually) get a PS5. Have you ever seen the anime Serial Experiments Lain? It's from 1998, only 13 episodes, and I think you would really enjoy it.

Ryan Frankenstein

What an amazing video! Really enjoyed it!

It is a really great video

As someone who works in QA in the game industry, I love these long form non biased critical analyses soo much and especially when its presented so well like this. I myself never got onto the cyberpunk hype train or never really had any interest in playing it up until my friend bought the game at launch and watched a few hours of them going through the corporate story prologue. So after hearing all the horrible backlash that the teams working on the game received and how awful their conditions were by the "end" of its release period, it feels so refreshing to have someone take a step back and just go through their whole experience on a way more chilled out tone. It makes me so glad that I can support good content like this from a creator I really enjoy and I love how you put in just enough to make me really want to play this game now without spoiling any of the key moments of the story. Wonderful craftsmanship altogether~ <3

DiddlyDaddlyDoo

Great video for a game that wasn't able to live up to the hype, mostly because they didn't have time.

T.V.Rockwell

Great video as always.

15:10 - "setting them on fire" *sings opera menacingly* 30:53 - I... felt that. 53:30 - From sadness to horni in a split second. Naisu. 56:20 - I'm sure that'd be nice. What's there to say about the video as a whole...? Your passion shines through all the layers of bugs and t-poses. I'm not super into the genre, myself, but these have been some very soothing 80 minutes (I rewatched some scenes ^^') taking me away from real life... and boy did I need that. Thank you, Suzi.

Again, great job on the video! It was a lot of hard work and now you can rest easy. Until the next project that is haha. Either way, keep up the good work. 😊

Loved the shoutouts for us non-binaries in the intro <3
