About Atenkiji Health

Full-blooded Atenkiji are typically unaffected by human ailments and diseases. Things like colds, to cancer, etc. simply don’t effect their bodies at all due to their different physiology. They do however, have ailments and diseases of their own to contend with.

One such illness being what they call “Overclock Syndrome”; which is when an atenkiji is born with a greater level of energy than their body can physically store. This can often lead to deformities over time, or their energy bubbling and bursting within them. In extreme cases, the one suffering can accrue so much energy internally that the only way to expel it is via a large explosion, which can result in their death. If it is diagnosed, However, it can be treated by means of an energy extraction.

There is also an extremely rare, and fatal heart condition that can occur in certain Atenkiji, which can cause energy to well up within their bodies, and pool around their heart. Overtime, it will eventually become too dense, and crush the heart entirely. Given it’s rareness, it is seen in so few Atenkiji that it is considered an almost non-issue, however, to those it does affect, it is a painful demise. There is no cure for this condition in miles and co.’s lifetime.

There is a final condition to mention which effects Atenkiji. They know it as “Corruption Sickness”, and it occurs when an Atenkiji becomes afflicted with such intense feelings of rage and sorrow, that it begins to twist their minds. This is considered an illness as Atenkiji believe themselves to be the perfect people. Without need for self waring, or hate. Those affected by corruption sickness are so entrenched in their malice, they change almost entirely mentally, becoming hyper-fixated on thoughts of revenge or chaos. Telltale signs of the sickness are a darkening of the afflicted individuals natural energy color. Their eyes will gain a darker tint from normal, and their outward energy will do the same, hints of black mixing in. This sickness is believed to be incurable, with the only solution being death, as far as the Atenkiji believe.
