Let's get animating!

I've begun work in earnest on the sprite animations for the Cretaceous Seas Game. The last two pages of the t-rex scene are also in production but I needed to take a few days away from working on those and sit in the animator's chair again. And you know what? I love it! :)

The attached gif is a behind the scenes look at how I'm creating the motions for Ayla and her world, starting from the most basic motion build and working through traditionally As a kid, I had a documentary from the 60s that showed the process behind animation at the Disney studios. Watching that was just as exciting for me as seeing their actual films, and is really inspiring my style lately.

I need to sit down and write out my plan for the game, how patreon/crowdfunding will factor into it, and what to expect. I might try to do that this evening. For the meantime I wanted to at least show something I've been working on. More info on the game coming soon.

Thanks! So... well, it's not going to be like that at all, honestly. In this case, that animation sketch is actually the basis for the game character's jump move. I'm building out all the basic moves (stuff like the run cycle, jump, crouch, dodge, etc.) to showcase how Alya will move in the game. The final look will be fully colored, for one thing. And in terms of the overall feel and quality, I'm going to be aiming to make a game that will look professional and gorgeous. There will be some animated short cut scenes, but how many and how involved they can be will depend a lot on the funding.

oh.....that is so pleasurable to look at. It is so smooth. I hope this turns into a longer short, like something "Vore Cartoon" by rocet on Eka's Portal.

Looks awesome, I'm hyped for more!
