2024-12-03 15:11:26 +0000 UTCI’ve always been told to “sandwich” bad news (compliment/bad news/compliment) so if your bf/gf is cringe at what they do, just lead with love and say “honey you know I love the living hell outta you and who you are, but the acting/singing is not going to work, you can keep pushing and trying but I don’t feel it’s worth anymore money towards it until you see something come out of the moneyless effort that you put in. Imagine the outcome you could have with that effort into a field that has open doors for you.” Redirect! Offer other solutions, don’t just be the bearer of bad news. With passions, it’s easy for ppl to develop blinders and become unaware of their own ability because the passion is so prevalent. If you truly feel like something they’re passionate about isn’t going to work, LET THEM KNOW, cus someone needs to tell them. They probs won’t take it well, but they’ll come around (or not and at least you were real with a loved one, either they can handle that or they’re not ready for tough love) and in 5 years when they’ve finally shifted gears when it doesn’t work out they will be saying I wish you would have warned me, and you can say … listen buddy, I did.
