Saw the "Nothing Else Matters" vid when it first dropped. I was a big time Miley doubter when I first heard she was gonna do a cover with Chad freaking Smith on the drums (😍) so I wanted to ignore it initially due to knowing her vocals were shit for the part. Ho...ly...fuck was I wrong. She completely nailed every single note the OG song had and her lighter voice tone really shined. It was as if she had somehow elevated (no pun intended) the song to new heights. I instantly gained new found respect for her that day. Anyone can "try" to cover a Metallica song...few can actually pull it off.

Because that's not miley cyrus, that's Ashley O "The next song is the one that represents freedom to me. And it represents evolution, and it represents authenticity, and it represents brazenness And the reason why is because like, Ive mentioned before, I've made a lot of changes. I've experienced an evolution in front of you all, in front of everyone. And there was always this sense that surrounded me and surrounded my identity, or the identity that has been created for me outside of myself. Which is someone of all of those things. That is courageous, that doesn't give a fuck. I've been called unapologetic. But none of those things fit the person that lives inside of that shell. They do sometimes. Sometimes I am brazen and sometimes I am courageous and sometimes I am not apologetic and sometimes I don't give a fuck. But sometimes I'm the opposite of those things. Sometimes I'm scared, sometimes I'm anxious, sometimes I'm sad, sometimes I care too much. Sometimes I'm sorry for the shit that I should be sorry for and sometimes I'm just fucking sorry because we're told that we should be. And this song represents an artist that did the same thing. And I think eventually what wound up happening was it was getting best of her. The pain and the struggle of being someone that wants to break out of cocoon so bad but there's someone on outside saying no, you shouldn't represent this. You should be this you should be those things all time for everybody else. And so this song is one song that in the middle of this set I do for me. This song is for me" That's Ashley O for sure
