Logline: After being created by toymaker Gepetto and imbued with the spark of life by the Blue Fairy, marionette Pinocchio pines to be a
"real boy," and though Jiminy Cricket tries to steer him on the right path, Pinocchio is forced to find his own way.

Lead Male (6 - 13)
"Just as we remember. A black-haired, blue-eyed little boy in red shorts and a little yellow hat." Master toymaker GEPPETTO fashions Pinocchio out of wood and wishes upon a star for him to come to life. THE BLUE FAIRY gifts Pinocchio the spark of
life, but he remains a wooden boy and tasks JIMINY CRICKET with being his temporary conscience (until he can grow one of his own).

Supporting Male (50 - 70)
Master toymaker. A widower. "Aging but not elderly." Geppetto longs for a son, and after fashioning Pinocchio out of wood, he wishes upon a star for the marionette to come to life. Geppetto's stunned and overjoyed when his wish comes true, but he's also
over-protective, prompting Pinocchio to want to see the world and pine to be a real boy.

[JIMINY CRICKET]
Supporting Male (30 - 40)
"A dapper little figure in spats, tail-coat and top-hat." Jiminy serves as narrator and is tasked by the Blue Fairy with being Pinocchio's conscience, at least until he can grow one of his own. Jiminy serves as the proverbial angel on Pinocchio's shoulder, helping him get out of trouble and urging him to do
the right thing, but it's ultimately Pinocchio who realizes the error of his ways and comes into his own.

[COACHMAN]
Supporting Male (30 - 40)
"A rotund man in a big red coat." He makes a business of luring kids to Pleasure Island, where they're turned into donkeys that he sells in turn.

[HONEST JOHN]
Supporting Male (20 - 30)
"An anthropomorphic fox…in green top-hat and patched suit." He takes an interest in Pinocchio and sells him to Stromboli. He and pal GIDEON want to be turned into real men, but the Coachman instead turns them back into real animals.

[STROMBOLI]
Supporting Male (50 - 55)
Proprietor of a theater/marionette show. "A massive man." He buys Pinocchio from Honest John and makes the "living marionette" the star of his show. When it becomes clear that Stromboli intends to keep Pinocchio captive, Pinocchio escapes with help from Jiminy Cricket.

[BLUE FAIRY]
Supporting Female (20 - 30)
"Flaxen hair, blue eyes, a dress as deep blue as the sky just before dawn. Gossamer butterfly wings." She gifts Pinocchio with the spark of life and later, for his selfless behavior, makes him a real boy.

[LAMPWICK]
Supporting Male (9-13)
Lampwick is a rowdy, punk kid with a Brooklyn accent and a penchant for destruction. Sneering and mocking, quick to make fun of Pinocchio, Lampwick is ready to embrace all the vices offered by Pleasure Island until learning too late that he's been had.
He and Pinocchio meet at school, where Lampwick taunts him when it's discovered that Pinocchio has strings. Later, Lampwick attends Stromboli's show starring Pinocchio, and the two travel to Pleasure Island together, where Lampwick turns into a
donky.

Honest John's accomplice. "A silent anthropomorphic cat."

"A sort of military policeman with a gorgeous plumed tricorn hat, magnificent red-lined cape and striped trousers." Geppetto reports Pinocchio missing to him.
