The 7th Plague feature arc! New alpha available to patrons RIGHT NOW

Hello friends,

Our next feature arc is almost ready for beta. We want to give patrons an early look — and request your help testing! — so here it is...

The 7th Plague - Highlights

• All the features from the current "input" beta (full gamepad & steam deck support, new Abilities screen UI, new ability icons, new visual effects)
• Next leg of the main quest / arrival of the Girsh Nephilim
• Skill refactors: First aid replaced with Physic, Dual Wield replaced with Multiweapon Fighting
• New creatures and items; and more to come later: new furniture, new implants, more items, etc
• Lots of new sound effects
• Lots of other changes; full patch notes to come later

LIGHT SPOILERS BELOW!

We'd especially like your help testing a new, big, climactic battle at the foot of the Spindle. To support this, we added some convenient fast-forward wishes.

• Make sure the debug Wish command is bound: Key Mapping > Debug > Wish
• If you want to go STRAIGHT to the battle — with a chance to customize your golem before fighting — wish "startbattle"
• If you want to get new quest dialog first, wish "postgolem". You can customize your golem in Barathrum's Study, then wish "startbattle" to fast forward to the battle.

How to Access

The alpha is only available on steam, but the beta will be available on itch and GOG soon.

On Steam, switch to this branch: "thegyre - private omonporch alpha" (pw required):

• Right-click Caves of Qud in your Steam library
• Choose Properties > Betas
• Under private betas, enter "slouchingtowards", then opt in. If no branch is found, you may have to verify game files (Installed Files > Verify this game's files are installed correctly).
• In the Beta Participation dropdown, choose "thegyre - private omonporch alpha".

We'll set up a beta feedback thread soon, but for now, post your feedback here or in our discord!
