#737 Spice Fusion Summon

We’re in the middle of creating otherworldly curry.

Currently, I’m meticulously examining each and every one of Platy’s sample curries.

It’s just that...

Why...

“Why are they all so vividly colored?!”

A blinding blue, red, green, and yellow...!

The curries are too colorful, you’d think they’re one of those American candies!

It’s the stuff that children would love, but it’s not something you’d want them to eat!

“Reddd, blueee, greeeen.”

See that? It has already piqued Junior’s interest!

But no! You can’t!

It’s not good for you!

“Hmm... The plan was to get closer to the genuine curry by repeating these trials...!”

But isn’t she getting farther away each time she makes it?

While Platy’s herb garden provides a sufficient variety of ingredients, there’s ultimately only one correct answer. Having many options just makes it harder to find the right one.

Is this what they mean by “Too many cooks spoil the broth”?!

No, that’s not it.

“At this rate, who knows how many years it’ll take to find the true answer? I doubt my stomach will last till then...!”

I ate all the obviously failed brightly-colored curries.

This way, I can avoid protests like “Don’t waste food!”

But in exchange, considerable damage is accumulating in my stomach, so either way, I can’t avoid a disastrous end.

I must try to correct the course myself!

“Platy... can I give it a try this time?”

“Sure.”

Platy quickly hands over the reins, likely because she’s getting tired.

While I can, I have to find the correct curry recipe with my own hands... it’s a matter of life and death!!!

“I guess I have no choice but to rely on the Hand of Supremacy’s power...!”

The Hand of Supremacy that resides in my hand is a gift from the gods.

It brings out the latent potential of whatever I hold or touch to its utmost limit.

With its effects, I should be able to find the appropriate spices for curry from among these 666 herbs...!

Oh, spices filled with potential...!

Respond to the Hand of Supremacy’s guidance...!

“I’ve chosen the spices suitable for curry!”

The fresh-smelling coriander.

The oldest fragrant cumin.

And the golden glowing turmeric.

Come forth... spicy cuisine... Curry!!!

“It’s done...!”

Wow, it really can be done.

It was good enough to have chosen the spices, but when I cooked according to my gift’s guidance, I successfully made curry.

This is one of the things about the Hand of Supremacy.

It maximizes the potential of whatever I touch and brings out the best in the ingredients, shaping them into their most suitable form.

In other words, into the form of a dish.

There was no end to examples of semi-automatically created dishes.

Curry now also exists in this ephemeral mirage of this other world!

“Th-Th-This is curry?!”

Witnessing the finished curry, Platy is thrilled.

She’s utterly captivated by this golden, shining curry.

“Not only does it look exotic, but it has an indescribable, rich aroma! I can tell it’s delicious just by smelling it!!!”

“I know, right?”

Perhaps drawn by the aroma, the farm’s inhabitants gather one after another.

The curry’s strong aroma made Pochi, with his keen sense of smell, sneeze. Norito, our second son napping, snapped his eyes open.

“Master! Is this a hint of a new dish?! It smells amazeballs!!!”

Veil is as agitated and excited as ever.

“You should wait a bit. Curry isn’t complete just by itself.”

“Naan-i?!”

It’s not naan.

We’re pouring it over rice.

By doing so, we’ve made curry rice.

Have a taste.

“Woaaaaaaah! The unique texture is indescribable! The curry sauce intertwines with the rice, giving the flavor a real substanceeeeee!!!”

“This rich aroma is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled! I can tell several types are mixed in!”

“The richness of the curry seems to transform that aroma directly into taste! Richness! Depth! Flavor! Or rather, umami!”

People drawn by the curry’s aroma are all praising it after one spoonful.

And then there’s Veil...

“This is delish! This is a massive hit among all the dishes you’ve developed so far, Master! Why didn’t you make it until nowwwwwww?!”

Well, it’s because I didn’t have the ingredients.

In order to make curry, you have to select the appropriate spices from hundreds of types. Even the Hand of Supremacy can’t choose what isn’t there. That’s why it’s also an achievement of Platy, who provided the original spices that we made curry.

“Exactly! You should be grateful to me for being able to eat this curry! With each bite, okay?!”

“Shut up! If that’s your argument, you should be grateful to me every time you eat ramen!”

Same old pair.

They always unite when it comes to food and show up within a second whenever I develop a new dish, but they don’t get along when it comes to anything else.

This was also the case with this curry.

I must say, though, I resent the precision of Veil’s crisis radar, which didn’t make her show up when the vividly colored curries were made.

“Hey, Veil, there’s still some of this colorful curry left. Want some?”

“My survival instinct tells me to refrain.”

This blasted dragon...!

She’s the strongest creature on earth, yet she’s as cautious as a herbivore.

“More importantly, Master! This thing called curry is super tasty! I bet it has the power to create a new sensation! Continue your research so I can savor more curry!”

“Hey! What are you trying to do?! The curry is a collaborative work between me and Dear!”

A struggle for merit between Platy and Veil begins.

However, Veil has a point.

We can’t just end it with the completion of the curry, as great as it already is.

Curry has infinite possibilities, after all!

We won’t cut corners here but pursue even greater taste!

“To be honest, this curry is still incomplete.”

“INCOMPLETE?!”

Those words shocked Platy and Veil.

“Wh-Wh-Wh-What?! It’s already so delicious, yet you’re saying it’s still not in the final stage?!”

“I can’t believe it! Isn’t this taste, this aroma, already in the realm of perfection?!”

Well, it is complete in a sense.

To say it’s “incomplete” would be disrespectful to the people of India.

What I mean is, at this stage, this curry is the simplest one worldwide, made just by roasting spices.

It’s Indian curry.

Curry has evolved over a long history, and the curry that people like me, a Japanese, are used to eating has a lot more tweaks added to it.

Indian curry is watery, while the curry made from roux that Japanese people are familiar with is more viscous.

I know that adding wheat flour increases its thickness.

Moreover, Indian curry, being full of liquid, goes better with dry rice, but we’re using sticky Japanese rice on the farm, so I think there’s room for further improvement.

“In other words, there’s no end to curry’s exploration with its infinite potential! We might have opened the door to something terrifying!”

Are we ready to plunge into this bottomless curry rabbit hole?!

“Ohhhh! I don’t quite understand, but it sounds exciting! It took me years to gather the spices! It certainly feels unsatisfactory to be done in just one day!”

The initiator, Platy, is quite enthusiastic.

Well then, shall we start climbing this endless curry slope?
