#604 Heroine Momoko’s Comeback

I am Momoko, a heroine.

Huh? I’m not a heroine anymore?

Having lost support from the Human Kingdom after it was destroyed, introducing myself as a heroine now is nothing more than a self-proclaimed title.

Heroes and heroines are titles recognized by a nation. At least, that’s how it works here.

What have I been up to since the fall of the Human Kingdom, you ask?

Well, a lot has happened.

As soon as the Human Kingdom lost the war, I turned into a war criminal overnight. 

I was chased by the demon race and spent my days as a fugitive, running from place to place.

But I managed to put an end to those nomadic days.

However, as a heroine, I no longer received any benefits from the government.

I had to earn my food, so I became an adventurer.

They get paid for conquering dungeons and killing monsters. It’s convenient.

So I, who have confidence in my skills, decided to become an adventurer as soon as possible.

From then on, I indulged myself in adventuring!

Conquering dungeons, defeating monsters, meeting new friends, strengthening our bonds, even fighting an evil organization!

That’s what adventure is all about!

But my diligent self has never forgotten my original goal, not even for a second.

And that’s finding the saint’s farm!

This saint, master of the dragon I once saw on the battlefield, can grant whatever wish if you visit his farm!

I used to think I could ask him to restore the Human Kingdom, but after becoming an adventurer, I learned of the humans’ tyranny and changed my mind.

I’ve seen people who were also planning to do the same cause trouble by acting like terrorists, and I’ve crossed blades with them in the past.

I would rather the Human Kingdom not be restored than let such evil people prevail.

Nonetheless, I will still go to the saint’s farm.

That was the very first thing I decided on. And my motto is to carry out my original intentions.

Besides, I heard that if you find this saint, who transcends human knowledge, various wishes will come true, so there’s no harm in trying.

At the moment, I am conquering a dungeon called the Mountain of the Sacred White Maiden with my party mates.

Its guardian, who is said to be the most distinguished dragon in the world, is Grauglintz Dragon Alexander.

If we ask Lord Alexander, he may be able to tell us where the saint’s farm is located.

For this reason, we are conquering the dungeon in high spirits.

We have yet to accomplish that goal, however.

But today is the day we will make it to the summit! 

Just when we were pumping up ourselves to embark on our adventure, we had a visitor.

And they killed our enthusiasm.

The visitor was Brown Kato, an S-class adventurer.

Though an otherworlder like me, he left the frontlines because his abilities were not suited for war and became an adventurer.

He has been in the adventuring industry far longer than any of us.

Nonetheless, becoming an S-class adventurer is no mean feat, so I know Kato is an amazing person.

Even as I try my best now, I’m still in B-class.

When I first started as an adventurer, Kato helped me out in a pinch, so I've been greatly indebted to him.

As a senior adventurer, he’s a very dependable person!

If he has a favor to ask, it’d be against my principles if I didn’t listen to him!

Hm? A favor?

It’s unusual for Kato to actually ask something from me.

“Well, it’s not exactly a favor from me. It’s from someone else.”

“Someone else?”

That’s kind of a roundabout way of putting it.

This is going to be a serious conversation, huh? That’d mean we have to cancel today’s dungeon exploration.

“It’s from Pink Tonton.”

“Oh, her...”

Do I know her, you ask?

Of course I do. She’s famous.

She’s one of only five S-class adventurers in the world. In short, she reigns supreme among adventurers!

She used to be a mercenary who once stood on the front lines fighting against the demon race during the Human-Demon War.

We come from a similar background, so I’ve been indirectly indebted to her on several occasions.

The old man at the bar told me that there are so many ex-soldiers and mercenaries in the adventuring industry today who have changed careers after the war because of Pink Tonton!

“If I can help Pink Tonton, I’ll be happy to cooperate with anything you need!”

“Oh? Anything, you say?”

Yes! Anything!

As long as it is within my capabilities, of course.

“Truth is, Pink Tonton is starting a fighting organization.”

“Huh?”

Why would an adventurer start a fighting organization?

That’s the first part that puzzles me.

“The other day, an accidental match at an event was unexpectedly well received. We decided to make it official as an entertainment business.”

“I see...”

Mhm. I don’t get it!

“However, it was impossible to start a show with just Pink Tonton alone, so we decided to have a bigger lineup. We need a good number of people with the strength, toughness, and star quality to establish a pro wrestling organization.”

“Did you just say pro wrestling?”

I know that word.

“Yes, if I dare to name what she is trying to do, it is most appropriate to call it women’s wrestling. It’s a match made possible by the fact that we’re otherworlders.”

But you see, I’m a girl. I’m not knowledgeable about wrestling.

“Silver Wolf’s appointment as guildmaster has accelerated the pace of things. I’ve been thinking for a while now, but he really tends to overwork himself.”

“Huh? The new guildmaster is Silver Wolf, the S-class adventurer?”

“That’s right. He pretends to be a lone wolf, but he was born to lead. Wolves are pack animals by nature, after all.”

“Huh.

I’ve always wanted to pet that doggy.

“Anyway, back to the topic, I’d like to see you join the pro wrestling organization. I want you to become a star player who can lead this world’s wrestling industry.”

“What?!”

Kato’s expectations for me are far beyond my imagination!

“Please wait! I don’t mind wrestling, but being a star player is too much!”

“That’s not true, Momoko. There aren’t many girls who have both abilities and looks like you! You can dash your way to a winning streak no matter whom you fight while winning over fans with your charm!”

“Charm?!”

“Yes, charm!”

“I’m charming?!”

“Yes, you’re charming!!!”

Ohhhhhhhhh, all right!

I haven’t been complimented that much since I was summoned to this world. If Kato insists, I can’t turn him down!

Praise a high school girl, and she too will climb trees!

Let’s do this, high school heroine Momoko!

Let’s show them that we can rise to the top of another world, even in women’s wrestling!

“Thank goodness... I was wondering what I would do if you declined...!”

“Huh? You mean you’ve asked other people before me?”

My name is Momoko, right?

I was curious because our names started with Momo, so I picked up a copy I saw at a secondhand bookstore.

I liked it a lot.

When I try my hand at wrestling, I’ll make full use of that knowledge.
