Tessa Ch. 3 - Reflection

Alright y'all, apparently I messed up. The third chapter of Tessa's Side Story came out way back in April, and I guess I just never wrote a Reflection about it? From the bottom of my heart, I offer the most sincere apology I can.

Still, better late than never, right? Besides, from what I've heard on the Discord, a bunch of you didn't even know I had a Side Story about Tessa, so now is the perfect time to write this!

Anyways, Chapter 3.

Just like in the first chapter, I open with another of Tessa's nightmares, and this time we get a little bit of a hint about what might be happening around Tessa as she's dreaming. We don't have time to focus on that, however, as we're stuck in Tessa's POV as she struggles to recover from waking up.

The big reason I originally decided to write this side series about Tessa is that I feel like she's the perfect character to give some extra depth to. In the main series, she can be pretty standoffish, and I like to think that showing these nightmares of hers offer a pretty clean explanation for a lot of her issues. It also shows us another pretty surprising thing: Tessa in a happy, healthy relationship? That doesn't sound like her.

Her wonderful amazing partner, Raine, tries to hint that they'd be down to hear anything, no matter how crazy, but Tessa isn't having it, and that's the end of the scene.

Once we jump back into her normal school life, we can resume her usual internal monologue. I always enjoy writing from her POV, as it's so different compared to everyone else. There's an edge no one else can really match, and I like the flavor it gives her lived experience.

We also get a fun little hint about the main plot! I love doing this, despite how little I have the chance, but it's so fun to see an outsider's perspective on Amara's sudden wardrobe change. I also like that, since we're hearing it from Tessa, she's mostly just mad she can't stare at Amara's tits all day anymore, which predictably bums her out.

We interrupt happy polycule time, however, when Brandon rears his ugly head once more. It turns out he's got blackmail, and he's not afraid to use it.

That asshole really only has one trick, doesn't he?

This whole exchange with Brandon was an interesting challenge to write. I hinted at the truth of what happened in the main series, but I never showed it myself. Here, I need to think of a solid explanation for why Brandon would take Tessa's bait and try to summon a succubus rather than just try to fuck Tessa. In the end, I'm pretty pleased with the explanation I came up with. Tessa tries to capitalize on the fact that Brandon knows she doesn't want to sleep with him, and so hopefully this makes sense to him. I've also never been shy about the fact that Brandon was never very smart.

And the rest of the chapter is basically just a really fun sex scene. I almost never get a chance to use sex toys in my writing, and so this was a really fun chance to show off how much Tessa loves really weird toys. This whole scene really hits the nail on the head when it comes to my goals with smut; I want it to be hot, yes, but also playful and relatable. I love the idea of Tessa being an absolute brat in bed, refusing to stop until her partners reduce her to a dribbling mess.

With three chapters down, there's only one chapter left to go!
