October Update

It's October! Happy spooky month!

You know what's the spookiest thing of all? Evil cults trying to summon demons into our reality. Do you know where you could find that?

IN MY SECOND BOOK THAT'S OUT RIGHT NOW AHHHHHHH

https://books2read.com/CirclesOfChaos

The Aurelius Archives, Book Two: Circles of Chaos is available for purchase right now! This book takes chapters 14-26 of Suddenly A Succubus, adds a few scenes, and polishes up the prose to make it more vivid and dynamic. I didn't change as much as I did with Book One, and that's mostly because I was a better writer by the time I got to Book Two.

If you do get it, I would be eternally grateful if you Rated the book and left a Review. In fact, I'm offering an ongoing deal where everyone that leaves a Review gets a free month of Patreon membership! If you'd like to take me up on this deal, all you have to do is message me, either directly through Patreon or by reaching out to my email, NyxNyghtingale@gmail.com

Small, independent authors like myself often get buried by the search engine, and it can be really difficult for new readers to find my work. The more ratings and reviews I get, the more likely places like Amazon are to show my work when people start searching for relevant topics. I've done my best to plug my book into the algorithm, but at the end of the day, they only care about what's popular.

Thanks in advance!

Other than my second published book, what else is going on? Well, my lovely Patrons just got the final chapter of Book Four, which clocked in at a massive 19 thousand words. This chapter will go live to AO3 on October 10th.

I also finished up the prequel series Daughter of Damnation, which followed Amara's mother Evelyn. It's now fully available on AO3, and I'm extraordinarily proud of it. I took some pretty big swings, and I'm honestly a little surprised they all worked out. It can be enjoyed completely on its own, but it also functions great as a companion piece to Suddenly A Succubus!

However, with DoD and SaS Book Four finishing back to back, I've decided I need a bit of a break. For most of October, I will be writing a series of One-Shot stories that are exclusive to my Patreon.

The first of these stories, which went live for Patrons yesterday, is the fourth and final chapter of a Side Story focused on Tessa during the early chapters of SaS Book One. All four of these chapters are exclusive to my Patreon.

The second story is Vee and Amara's First Date.

The third and fourth stories are being voted on by my Patrons! While the votes haven't fully finalized yet, it's looking very likely that I'll end up writing a non-canon, "What If?" style story that explores a timeline where Amara turns evil. In this timeline, the point of divergence is her fight against Vee on Halloween. In the canon story, she stops herself before it's too late, but in this other timeline, she doesn't. The story will focus on the effects this action has on Amara, and we'll explore her changing personality as she travels down darker and darker paths.

The fourth story is still completely unknown, but based on the votes, it might come down to a choice between two stories. One, an in-canon story where our main characters all play a game of D&D. Two, a non-canon story written in the second person where Amara feeds on you, the reader.

If that sounds cool, and you'd like a chance to influence which stories get chosen, consider joining my Patreon! The lowest tier is only $3 a month, and I truthfully think it's worth it. Though, I might be a bit biased.

Towards the end of October, I'll jump back to my regular release schedule. As you all likely know, I always alternate between two books at once, and I'll be continuing that trend. In addition to writing SaS Book Five, I'll also finally be digging into Six Feet Over/Under, a murder-mystery lesbian romance book set in the SaS universe. Those two books will go live to the free sites as normal, though Patrons will get early access.

Otherwise, I don't have too much going on. It's going to be a bit of a lighter month for me, and I'm really looking forward to taking it easy after finishing two really powerful books.

As always, feel free to reach out if you have and questions or comments!

Nyx ♥
