Hello my lovely patrons!
I managed to get Horus cleaned up and de-tabbed, jebus fucking christ! were some of the pour tabs HUGE! I had to bring out my dremel and drill them down and even then it took me like 30 minutes to do it π
He's HUGE! I mean I though he was gonna be big, I've worked with 1/5 scale kit before but this guy is getting close to 1/4! I don't know where I'm gonna display all of them after realizing what I've gotten myself into π€£ I might buy another Moducase display just for them LOL!
I wanted to show you the amount of detail that this kit has, I'm in freaken awe! I'm also in awe at the amount of work he will require π all those surface air bubbles and not to mention the uneven mold lines that will need a lot of filler, sigh lol this is my first time working with an American produced kit and I can totally see the difference in casting quality and resin quality compared to that of the Japanese type, for instance, the resin is harder than the regular one I'm use to, not Thai cast levels but it doesn't easily cut or sand as fast as normal resin, I guess it could also be that the kits are more than 20 years old? π I dunno man!
This is a challenge I accepted and I will not back down now! Mah honor as a modeler is at stake π
Don't worry, every painstaking moment of my pain is being filmed π
Also, a new youtube video will be up in the next week, while it's not a holiday themed figure, it will be a holiday themed video, you guys might have already met my mom in a previous video and people loved her lol so I decided to get her an early very overdue xmas gift, I painted her first ever kit just for her, it's not anime related but it is Japanese produced, I went over yesterday to drop it off and she almost cried... and I recorded all her reaction for the video too π€£
Funny story, when I started doing kits full time and quit my job, I told my mom and she was not very thrilled, she was more worried than anything because here in Mexico, there's a saying that if you're an artist, then you're always going hungry so she was worried that maybe I was going to be in precarious situations. As the years passed, I started to show my mom that I was making some money from Youtube, but she still didn't have a lot of faith, I guess she was still worried about me. It wasn't until she finally learned to use social media that she started to see my work and she started to flaunt her "artist daughter" to her friends.
It wasn't until last year when I had my operation that she realized that doing this was a good source of income as I managed to pay for it thanks to my commissions, youtube and of course, your help on patreon and she started asking me "when am I gonna get one of your beautiful figures?" and this was the woman that would disapprove of my love for Anime when I was young and always calling them "chinese cartoons" and wasting my money buying merch π my reaction to that was like

OK? But you don't like anime π€£ but she said anything made by me would make her happy. So I granted her wish and got her a non anime figure, this one to be precise.

I won't spoil her reaction because you'll get to see that in the video!
For now, I wanted to show you guys what awaits me for next year and I'm very excited to kickstart this project with you!
Also! I know Xmas is coming and everybody will be busy with family and friends so I will plan our monthly VIP monkey Hall meet up on Discord for Saturday the 18th at 4 PM PST, so I hope to meet more of you there to hang out and have a fun time!
