This does exactly what a remake should do: improve upon what the original did without disrespecting it. And if Hana's sideplot (which I am hoping goes somewhere in two weeks) is not only a simple cutaway, but also a reference to the pointless cheap gags that plauged the 90s remakes, I am in awe; confirmation will put me in stitches.
