I had a loving but way too overbearing mother who shielded me from almost all social interactions growing up. How incredibly lucky for him that he found a partner who understood and took the first few leaps in their relationship, despite her own hesitation and awkwardness! I wanted to hug him so badly too at that party. His brother-in-law had no idea how much it took for him to even speak to him and ask for help. I did find it to be quite cheesy that his love for Lena suddenly gave him so much courage, but maybe I don’t understand the power of true love. Yet.
