Thanks, we're pretty excited about the move! GNOME is definitely my pick for anyone not familiar with computers in general, that's what I would install to anyone who wants to try out Linux

2024-04-10 08:48:56 +0000 UTCNew apartment sounds great Nick 👍🏻 I agree with much of what you said about the Gnome Fedora issue. At the very least it still allows “choice”, particularly in a time when “Winblows” is removing most of the choice. Keep up the great work!!

2024-04-09 20:50:20 +0000 UTCCongrats on the new appartment Nick. I think that Gnome being the default for Fedora is fine. RHEL ships with Gnome so obviously Fedora will ship Gnome by default too since it's RHEL's upstream and as much as I like KDE, I couldn't imagine giving users in a work environment such a customizable desktop environment as KDE, it's too likely that users will fiddle around and break things in KDE. Gnome on the other hand makes perfect sense for a workstation: not much can be customized out of the box, hence not much can be broken by the user.
