GG Town Hall Recap And News

We are all ready to kick off 2025 here at GG and we're going to share news with you guys regarding many things to kick off our year. Here are some highlights from last nights town hall.

Goodbye Timed Releases!
As many of you know we struggle with firm deadlines in the creation of SU. This isn't something unique to us, and really is something that is a problem with any creative entity. So we have made the decision to stop delivery updates bi-monthly, and move to a volume style of delivery. We're aiming to have content be just as regular (6 updates), but now we will work towards a total size of update rather than a date. Our current aim is 30-35 scenes per update, and our target currently is end of February for the next update.

Ren'py Ren'py Ren'py
Unity and fungus are obsolete to a point it's impacting content creation, and satisfaction levels of everyone who plays SU. So to facilitate our move to cleaner, more well received content we're going to most updates being in Ren'py. This doesn't mean Unity is dead, and it will get updated as well. But the number of Unity updates will be limited.

Areas Of Focus
Gotham will be the first update this year, and that is all that is really planned. Bend or Break 2 is 100% going to be worked on this year, and work is slated to start early. Scope and size are being reeled in to create something very fun and playable. Themyscira's ending will get a rework and more content will be flushed out, and the final stamp on Themyscira hopefully will come. Outside this we're taking a much more adaptable approach to what content we're going to be working on.

A New Look At Content
When asked what we do, we always answer with "we make VN's" which is correct. But really what we make is stuff that engages you guys, and hits on certain feelings (I know ewww). If that is nostalgia, power, corruption, lust, or just seeing raven's goth bobs. We're going to create a "filter" to which our content has to pass. This will result in us having fewer misses, and more steady content that you can come to expect. Look for future posts that we will engage you guys to help us nail down what these "feelings" are.

The Message
Our messaging has always been a strong point, and we're looking to strengthen that in 2025. To coincide with our new update style we will be enhancing teaser week, to teaser weeks. This means when you see a teaser come out, a build is coming out with a "date". We will have the build in hand ready to deliver all tested and finalized. As well we will keep you all more involved with more updates on content creation and target areas as we move forward in the year.

We're getting back to streaming, and that will be MB content. However the MB has not been split off into Ren'py yet. So that still has to be done. League of Shadows is slated to be split off, as well. So our plan is to work on those events as they are getting a Ren'py rebuild. We're just trying to remain as flexible as possible this year as we made a major change to how things get put out. Last year was the first release of a Ren'py stand alone for PC. We hit every major target we had for content, outside the final 3 months. Where we had an obvious miss with Halloween, and then swapped Bend or Break 2 off for more Gotham content (that was planned). Flexibility is a must this year, but we're also hoping to start getting into some solid predictable releases towards the second half of the year. It's just too early to put that expectation on the team.

Gunsmoke Games

Besides Gotham and reworking part of Themyscira, are there any plans or intentions of working on some other things that aren't quite done yet or might need some touchups? For example, you introduced Nyssa al'Ghul last year, but her interactions aren't done yet and overall the whole League of Shadows content feels kinda unfinished. Similiarly, I think people have asked for a while when the MB will get some more attention. You can't really interact with Catwoman outside of talking to her about "recruitment" and having her as as your armcandy for the "normal" Gotham event, and there's still some girls that don't have the same amount of interactions in the MB as others (key word "Exhibition"). I realize that what you want on work with is a big part of the creative process vs working on what others want you to, but I felt the last year was sorta all over the place with introducing new things, but never to the point where it felt "finished".

The base game will always be on Unity. We however will break off all the sections into smaller "stand alones" in Ren'py. Then we can package them up with an order to play. This way we can help many who have issues with mega
