Drawing THE STUFF that comes out of Hikaru is always so fun, kind of therapeutic in the mindless wiggly organic primordial lines. I can't wait for the new manga chapter and anime ep next week!

that's a great summary of the series! I remember in one chapter Yoshiki basically said to himself "if I can save 'Hikaru' and give him compassion, then maybe I deserve saving too." and that's just the most touching and saddest few pages 😭

2025-08-05 15:22:07 +0000 UTCI really like the vibe of that image. The cut on the throat is such an interesting outlet (instead of the chest or wrists for example). The "form" of the entity is kinda gross (I mean, come on, you probably wouldn't be very fond of having that stuff globber all over you!) but since it is it's own... personality... it became more than just the "fuel" that is moving Hikaru's body and relying on his memories... And realizing that and still... holding that hand means "acceptance" (on a huge scale for that matter). Isn't that exactly what any kind of love is/should be about? Instead of just one obstacle (being "a little different" aka gay in a small town community) or "unrequitted highschool-love" or "first love" - that story takes it to a whole other level, not just by adding the supernatural, but also including basically major character death and putting concepts as "believe" and "moral standards" on the line, just as much as the physical aspect of "totally different physique"... thouching the entity doesn't mean "holding hands with Hikaru". And it's not a charming 1000 year old spirit/demon/vampire with killer-looks here... I am hoping for more fan art (of course!) because you catch the vibe of it all so well and still makes it your own at the same time. I really like it! Thanks a lot for sharing!! : )
