I've been meaning to create a painting about plastic and pollution in the ocean for a long time now but couldn't fully visualize my ideas. But I think the art block is over and I've found the fishing net to be a powerful symbol to use.
In the past I used to do more environmental paintings but I've fell behind in recent years. My goal of becoming an artist was to use my art to bring about a message, be it through paintings or my comics. Lately my paintings haven't been true to my goals and I think the art blocks grew from that. I was so focused on practicing my skills by doing portrait studies and testing out different styles that I've lost some meaning to my art.
Looking back at some of my older works, I want to remember why I became an artist.
