I had a long but productive week.

That last page took the whole week. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently than way back when, in the first issue, when I could produce 2 pages a week. But I guess I'm getting old, because i'm working as much as my body will allow me. but can only manage to make 1. Oh well...

Weekly Update

Hello my beautiful people.
Another holly day, but I think I'll be working today.

So... my schedule got out of whack in the last few weeks. Which became an issue since I started sleeping till late afternoon. Before my surgery, I would have been ok with it, but, this time around, my neighbors keeps waking my up, which affected my productivity. Also, after MONTHS keeping to a regular schedule, getting back in a random cycle didn't sit well with me.

Nothing much to say about my week. Things went smoothly, I published a good page, I'm happy.

Didn't watch as much Dr Who this week, but I saw "the Brain of Morbius" last night which was the first storyline I ever saw from that show. So I guess I finally achieved full circle :P

Day off today, it's a national holly day (la fête nationale du Québec). I usually don't care about holly days, but...

How are you doing my beautiful people?

I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. And after the last month or so, this moment of peace is most welcome. Not everything is perfect of course. But I really don't feel like complaining today :P

I was quite please with last week's page, even if I don't understand why it took so long.

That said, and because of it, I decided to stop saying that I'll aim for two pages since I clearly can't manage to deliver more than one a week.

As you guys know, on Tuesday, I woke up feeling sick. It lasted a day or two. I slept most of Wednesday and was starting to feel better on Thursday where I decided to layout the rest of this comic issue.

Cold confirmed.
And it's a lot worst that the one I had two weeks ago. I woke up with quite an headache, my sinuses are blocked, I'm tired as hell and I'm half-baked out of cold medication.

Luckily for me. I only had the light rendering do do today, and I managed to complete my page none the less.

Now, if you excuse me, I'll go lay down and sleep for a day or so :P

I'm exhausted... Again.

I slept a hell of a lot yesterday, so I'm feeling better for the moment. And I plan to go to bed early tonight. Let's hope it stick.

Ever since my surgery, those fits of exhaustion have been coming and going more and more. It usually means two things:

1, I'm about to loose a few more pounds or...

2, I'm about to be sick again.

I'm hoping for the first one, but pretty sure it's the second. I use to ...

Ferawyn and I are still going back and forth on the text for this issue. We have two very different visions on that one (I'm a big softy... he's not) and finding the common ground isn't always evident but makes my story better every time. I'll probably have to change his credit from dialogue to cowriter on this one... His contribution is immense.

I think it's time for me to layout the rest of the issue.

Good morning my beautiful people.
I hope you are doing great!

The cold is almost gone. Only traces remain, so I'm feeling quite good at the moment, and I'm super excited to go back to rebuilding my social life ^^

I do not consider any of these pages as final as long as it hasn't been collected in the PDF file. Especially this one. There was a lot of rewrites, and i'll have to go back and make sure everything still fit in the end ^^

I don't know about you, but ever since covid, I have been adamant about keeping my viruses to myself. It's not the worst cold I ever got. Just a lot of coughing and sniffling really. But I did take the first two days off the help recuperating, So I went with a pinup instead of page 13 just to be certain I'd be able to deliver this week.

Hello my beautiful people!
Hope you are doing well... Because, I'm not.

Nothing major, but it seems I caught a bit of a cold, or something similar. My throat hurt, and I've been coughing my lungs out since last night. So I'm going to get myself some cold medication and hope for the best.

Because of it, I cannot promise that I'll have a page ready this week. Right now I feel ok...ish, but with me, these things tend to get bigger before getting better and I might very well ending...

I was extremely tired that night and just couldn't manage anything close to what I really wanted to say. I had a LOOONG week... And very little weekend. Today is going to be a bit of a pain.
That said, I feel good.

As you guys know, page 12 took a long time to complete. At the same time, I had a rough week in term of health. Noting major, but I was constantly tired and my blood sugar stayed low, no mather what I eat. That second part is a little weird. I basically didn't have to take insulin once this week. Finally!!!

Two weeks should be way too much time invested on a single page. When I was still working in the mainstream, my bosses would have showed up at my desk and ordered me to cut corners. I ADORE the fact that I can spend as much time as necessary to make the best page possible. And this is only thanks to you guys!

I'm still not sure it was really worth it, but I do really love the result.

Quick Tease

Still on track, although, at the moment, a Friday release seems a bit optimistic. I finished all the backgrounds, laying down the flat colors of all the elements and started work on the final rendering.

The good new is, page 12 is coming along quite nicely and, so far, look freaking fantastic!

I had a few fits on insomnia last week, so my schedule it getting out of whack again and I'm starting to feel it, but overall I'm doing great.

I've started watching "3 Body Problem" over the week end. I absolutely love it. I was a bit reticent at first. I never got into "Games of Thrones" (I was reading the books at the time and couldn't do both at the same time) and all the talks around season 8 ruined any chances for me to check it out now,...

This page has become so heavy, Photoshop was having memory trouble. I had to stop everything to make place on my drive. I moved around 1.5 Go of files on my external drives... It took 12 hours :P

Just for comparison. My usual page weight around 150 to 250 Mo... This one at some point was 750 Mo. That is a big PSD file :P
