My Dinner with Cactus Friend

Thanks to those who joined us for the stream - it was a nice way to end an otherwise difficult month! Fable wanted to finish up their stream sketches and share them with you all.

This came from a combination of requests - one for Rocky teaming up with Cactus Friend for Valentine's Day, and one for Rocky looking serious post-head injury. (Clearly the 'serious' part didn't quite stick.)

Anyway, I guess this is how you do fondue with a spiky companion and an e-collar on.

Episode Preview Compilation - Part 1

Part 1 of a compilation of previews from Lackadaisy Season 1, Episode 1. We've started showing these previews at conventions this winter, and so I figured we'd share with Patrons as well!

Convention Time

Happy New Year, everyone!
It's not really convention season, but who cares? We're going to one anyway!

Fable Siegel (Lackadaisy series director) and I, and some of the crew will be at Further Confusion in San Jose, California from January 16th-20th.

We'll be at dealer table 61 with books + merch, and we'll be hosting an Animation/Q&A panel on Sunday.

Stream Sketches

Just some goofy little livestream request sketches I promised I'd post. There's not much time left to be timely about it, I suppose!

Freckle's special, not-so-special Holiday Potato, Bobby-Clause, and Sy as Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. (Rudolph was the product of a 1939 marketing campaign and so it's rather anachronistic, but I reckon Zib is too drunk to notice.)

Kitten Interlude

Important Jimmy update: He likes leaves.

He gets about 30-40 minutes of supervised outdoor time most mornings. The weather has been pretty cruddy, but he doesn't let that spoil a good time.

Mordecai Modes

Mordecai's various Season 1 clothing changes. Also included are some notes we wrote up for the animation team to try to make drawing him easier, to explain some of his design foibles, and to smooth out some known issues...such as him turning into Lemoncai.
(The topmost turnaround is not representative of an outfit. It's just a reference for animators.)

Cocktail Art

Some work in progress graphics for a yet-to-be-announced book that'll release sometime in 2025.

It'll be full of Lackadaisy themed recipes and drinks, concocted and photographed by the amazingly talented Nerlyn Galan. It's really been a labor of love on her part - there are even numerous authentic historical props scattered throughout the photos. And, of course, it'll be full of art too! Can't wait to share more of this as it comes together.

Season 1 Color Script

For those who might have missed my past explanations for color scripts, they are a guideline for how a series of shots is to be colored, lit, and composited. It lets us establish an overarching color scheme to achieve a certain mood and to complement the storytelling.
