I’m putting a couple of pinups like this in the zine, highlighting my favorite characters in the franchise. I’m just going to knock these out quickly, so I can get this all finished and move on to Damaged 2 (date with a werewolf).

I am putting a patron list in the zine, so anyone new since Stray Bullet 1 I will be putting your name in unless you tell me no! I will try to contact you about whether to use your screen name, real name, or an alias.

Yesterday I was wondering if this was in fact a “zine” and then I was reminded that “zine” is short for “fanzine” and this is most definitely a fanzine.

I needed an ad for this to start posting and put in a newsletter, and it works as the cover with minor alterations. It’s been over a decade since I put a photocopy mini-comic together, and there aren’t any Kinko’s around anymore… lol. Hopefully the FedEx print center has copiers I can use.

December 2023 round up/ happy new year

Sexy Satyrs, a sexy welcome sketch, a ghastly ghost dong with festive ornamentation, some sex workers, and a whole lotta zine work!

I think I will be simplifying this grid in the future, to make it more eye-catching. It’s pretty busy right now.

I will put an overall 2023 grid together too. One of them art vs artist thingamabobs. I do them every year and abandon them because I don’t think it looks good, but I promise to post it this time, lol.

In the cursed video as described in the book Ring, a sweaty man is seen from underneath, with a very peculiar and unsettling expression on his face. He stares into the camera, and blood trails down from a wound (a bite mark?) on his shoulder. We later find that he was a doctor where Sadako’s father was convalescing, our protagonists identity him as the man in the video from the scar on his shoulder.

This page is pretty wordy and includes images from the different films. The one I chose for this panel is a forensic reconstruction of Sadako’s face on top of her actual skull. This is how she appears later in the film. The first drawing I did with the wig on it, which I like, but the base and support rod appear to be her neckline on an outfit and I redrew it without the wig for clarity.

A week ago I had no idea I would physically be drawn into the well, so to speak. I suppose it was inevitable, as one of the possible titles for the zine is “In The Well”.

I think I may very well rework the title to include a box with Feral and Mitch’s heads in it, since they are completely absent from the cover otherwise!

I’m trying to break up the Sadako posts with beefcake! I know I’m a bit scattershot with my content, but I am trying to keep my droogies happy while on this journey.

This was fun, I enjoy collaborating with William! This was the second “vs” I had done layouts for us to do, so I think we will be working on that one next. It’s a little goofier, if you can believe that. Whatever the third one ends up being, William will do layouts on.

December sticker/Greek mythic man-monsters #3

Another based on an unused sketch for a tattoo, this time a Satyr. I can’t decide on the background or no background, please chime in below on which one I should go with.

The black and white one is the tattoo sketch, I think I was working on the background shape when I stopped. I like this guy but decided to make changes from this version to make it its own thing.

So when putting this together, I came upon the idea of telling this as part autobiographical, part essay, rather than all essay. It gives me a narrative that is my own and makes this all subjective rather than passing myself off as an authority on the subject. Telling my experience is all I can really do.
