Midnight Movie sticker 1: BEEF

This quarter William and I are lining up our sets, so his sticker this month is also from the film Phantom of the Paradise! He’s doing the titular character.

This was another exercise in Barron Storey’s class, a one-page summary of the story. It evolved tremendously from this, but this was a cool way to develop the idea. I would love to do more like this, but would be afraid of being spoiler-y.

I’m putting together our first Tannis Comix Sketchbook and sending it out to the printer soon, to premiere at this year’s Q-con on May 3rd.

W.I.P. Punk Pride poster

One of the things I am working on atm is a commission for Peaches Christ, for an ongoing event she and a partner are putting together as a promotion at the Chan center in San Francisco. I am beyond excited to be doing this, and that she loves what I have been making for this. I am cleaning up the drawing now, and then it will be whatever color we do… but for show posters I like a limited palette. Text will be at the top, obviously. The figures at the bottom are Peaches and Edwin.

So it’s fully gone into effect, the Apple Store added 30% to all transactions is now a part of Patreon… and my in app tiers show that the increase is more like 50%. I have no idea how this happened. But please! Never make a purchase through an app on an iPhone. Go to a browser and do it that way, unless you’re happy to just give away an additional 50% of each transaction to Apple. Give it to the creators instead, or keep it yourself!

Tried out a very limited palette here. Literal colors are just sometimes too colorful.

The 3rd sticker is next, and then I need to focus on my commissions that have stacked up. But that’s good and exciting! Thank you for your patience.

I also have a few tangential shorts to do, some that fit with the main Stray Bullet story… complimenting the narrative but are kinda goofy asides…

Doug character intro

I’m going in order of appearance with these. Grant made his first appearance in the same story as Doug, but I am doing him next even though he made his debut a few pages before. I guess loosely in order of appearance!

I’m alternating months in the spotlight with William, so Grant will be May. Kwewu in human guise will be July, and Majin the dragon man will be September. Dr. Bonito is November, Jay is January 2026, followed by Digit (Doug’s werewolf form), Dr. Ando, Kurt,...
