I’m working on writing more at the moment, I have a script due for a piece I am doing in an anthology about food… have I mentioned that before? Each contributor is doing a piece about food and another topic. I was asked to do the one no one else had chosen, which is hiv/aids. It’s a good gig, so I said yes. I never thought I would be writing a script for a comic story about food and hiv, though.

Hey here’s another Velvet Collar post… getting the cover together. The rentman ad and rabid cop wallpaper were created for use as elements of the cover, but were also used elsewhere, especially the ad. As far as the title goes, Bryan was all ready to go with a stencil-like type font, and didn’t see the need for a logo. Green Oni unintentionally shows the goods, for all to see. I had drawn this up with a Jacob’s Ladder piercing, and some ornate glans jewelry, but I felt that took the eye too much away from the nuts… which are important for this sequence.

We’ve been watching the Mad Max films, only half of which I had seen before. After seeing Thunderdome for the first time all the way through, I wanted to draw this character, since he has a couple of the features I enjoy drawing, i.e.: angular cheekbones and round shoulders. And though post-apocalyptic films aren’t my favorite genre, I do like drawing the scavenger aesthetic. Dusty, torn, etc. (See the last welcome sketch).

The kickstarter has 9 days left and it looks likely that we’ll hit the second stretch goal! Then we get to see what the backend of a campaign looks like. I hear that a lot of packing and shipping is involved, lol.

Stretch Goals and April Sticker

Hey y’all! We met the first stretch goal, and have moved on to the next. I knew it would involve the art that I originally planned for the cover, and after looking at the cost of doing a split run of the printing, have decided to offer an alternate cover aw the stretch goal. I think it’s fun, and when the campaign is done, each contributor will get to choose which they like best, and I won’t regret not using one or the other! Lol.

Hey y’all! I had posted this as the hero shot we used to promote the book and as such was the first page drawn, but there it is as page 23, text and all.

I’m working at polishing and finishing off pages for Stray Bullet 2, as I will be all month. I’m considering what to do for this next set of stickers, I am leaning towards pulling images from the book like I did with the set that came out when Stray Bullet 1 came out. I hope to get a catch-up page for Loose finished and up next....

Stretch Goal Sticker

Welp, here’s the sticker for the first Kickstarter stretch goal, which we’ll hit no problem. I took the silhouette from a panel from Loose in #1, which I am also going to use in a catch-up page for part 2 (of Loose). There’s still 3 weeks of the kickstarter campaign, and I wanted to finish this image to promote the stretch goals.

I’m swamped with Kickstarter stuff today so I am sticking this here to hold my page over until I get something finished to show.

March was a big month. I started part 3 of Loose, did some fan art for the classic noir manga Oldboy, a fun original Monmon cat, a welcome sketch, some analog ink drawings of Feral and the Ghost Skater, I wrote a bit, and we had a poll and run-off poll to decide on the month’s sticker.
