Some people do wonder if Brutus is simply putting on an act. But I would assure them, he is not. The dumb guy being secretly smarter than he lets on is a common trope, and in some ways, Brutus is more intelligent than he seems in specific skills, but he is simply not very clever. His brain looks at things as he sees it, and rarely questions the world around him unless someone else prompts him to do so first.

Leaving the Backdoor Open
In The Dragon Masquerade, Clovis made a secret backdoor into the link between Zen and Natani, in order to control them if necessary. Apparently, Clovis didn't close the tap and Youngtani found it, suggested by RavenIceFox!
