December 2021 Balls Deep Commissions

I usually get commissions done earlier on the month but shit happens sometimes. Still, everyone thankfully got their commission done on time. This page made me get kind of sick of drawing squat racks, and I'm only getting started.

The first panel looks kinda off in the finished version once I put the squat rack on top of the character lineart, but I think it helps show that Walter's form is getting increasingly worse as he bumps the weight.

I bent the horizontal gutters in this page a little to show how Walter's workout is getting really sloppy and careless, and it ended up being a bit of a pain in the ass for doing bac...

Last month I made a poll asking you guys to pick a subject for Miles to explain Boomer to help him understand his son better.

The most voted option was Gen Z humor which I threw in as a fourth option on the last minute and had no idea how to turn into a strip so OF COURSE you guys picked that one. It was difficult to think of a situation where gen Z humor would pop up naturally on conversation but here's what I got.

So we have made the full transition from a comic set in university to a comic set in a gym which is a setting I personally prefer and opens up more jokes, which I intend to fully take advantage of with the next couple pages.

Walter's apartment serves a dual purpose here: first of all, him moving into a new apartment gives him a reasonable excuse to have missed the class, and second... an unfurnished apartment is way easier to draw.

This panel should also dispel any doubt that he's a university student and not in high school, which a lot of people for some reason are under the assumption of.

Also, the cat lady down the hall is literally a cat lady.

I'll be keeping these drawpolls Boomer/Miles related so there's at least a new strip featuring them every month.

A small thing I touched on with the Funko pop strips is that dating Miles is helping Boomer bond with his son. Perhaps I should expand on that a little more? For the next drawpoll I'll be doing a strip where Boomer asks Miles to help him understand some of the weird stuff his son is into. Pick your choice for the subject!

If the bus stations and subway entrances look off to you (or college students using public transportation, and not living on campus), I prefer drawing from my experience living in Buenos Aires so that might explain why.

That said, I don't want to set this comic anywhere in particular. I was about to make the subway Walter takes the yellow H line but I decided against it and deliberately made it different.

Another month, another batch of commissions!

First of all, Rodrigo requested his boar OC, Andrew, wrestling with Khenbish from Minotaur Hotel.

Second, Zega got a gift commission for his friend, OrcDoggo, who requested his orc character standing in a doorway exposing his armpits.

For doing longer comics like this I usually start with rough MSPaint sketches to lay out the panels and dialogue, I kind of skipped those when posting Boomer's Big Date but I think showing the whole creative process might be interesting.

Like I mentioned back in September, I've been working on a new comic, and I finally got enough progress done to start posting!

This one's gonna be shorter than Boomer's Big Date, but still long enough to set the proper mood. The plot on the last comic was heavy on melodrama because I wanted to get better at drawing more expressive characters, but this one is going to be a little more light-hearted and focus a little more on humor and lewdness.
