Finally uploaded 0.09.1 build on Steam. I planned to do that a week ago actually, but I found that the game built on UE 5.4 doesn't save input config file anymore. To make saving custom key mapping possible again I had to move the input system to a new unnecessarily convoluted 'Enhanced Input' as they call it. This is basically what I was doing last week.  At least I added support for character control via gamepad, UI navigation I'll leave for later because it's quite a big task. View Post

  • I went through all the interactables, changed bits responsible for highlighting and cleaned up post process material. However I will postpone implementation of the special view I was talking about because I have some doubts that it would be a good idea. Instead I added a small vfx around the character's head that signals when interactables become highlighted.

My current plan is to go through TODO list and do some smaller things for smaller patches.

Update 0.09

This week I made another animation and worked on localization. Basically what's left before the release is to add the event into replay book, find several sounds for puzzle and do a bunch of playtests. Hopefully this will take no more than a week.

Last couple of weeks I spent finishing work on cutscenes, doing related coding and catching bugs caused by that coding.

While I was at it, I reorganized some things so that climax animations will play repeatedly instead of forcing player out of session. After this update I should probably start adding climax to other animations.

Couple icons also needed rework.

Next on the list are animations, so I'll be working on that.

Again Evi tasted something she didn't want.

I continue to work on cutscenes. The goal is to put all scenes and logic for transitions in place, then I can start animating.

Also did some coding related to playing H scenes, fixed couple of issues in characters textures. Tried to find a practical way to control cloth sim on switching frames in sequences. Apparently it is impossible, so if a character in cutscene changes it's position, cloth bits will jump unpredictably.

Plans

No build this time, just plans. What I'm doing currently and will be doing in coming months is polishing. Instead of making new content, I decided to address issues that I postponed for too long. This includes adding sounds for all kinds of interactions, ability to save game, some sort of intro, and bunch of other smaller things. It's a lot of work, so I will probably disappear for some time.

PersonalStudy 0.07.4

For this update I focused on building the location, where MC finds the next summoning tome and eventually going to conduct next ritual. Although currently there's no gameplay value in that room.

In this update I reworked another H-scene with male summon (1st one on the floor) and added climax option to it. Still not sure if I want to continue adding these to other scenes, they bear little value, but add quite a bit of headache.

Build 0.07.2

In this build I added first puzzle room for second part of the game. I'm aware of the demand for more complex puzzles, but this one again came out super simple. I need good references for future puzzles, if you know games where I could borrow ideas, please leave a comment or DM.

There's an option to start game from part 1 or 2, it's temporary solution until I implement some sort of save system.

Experimental stuff

For this update I wanted to redo couple of early animations, that I didn't like so much. But while I was busy doing that I received several requests to make climax animations. This may sound trivial, but in my case it's really not. 

So I explored some options and as a result added experimental climax animation for the first pose on the table, which I updated.

In this update I added bunch of dialogues/cutscenes, making which took much more time, than I expected. This wraps up work on first quest, and should clarify the game structure which I want to move forward with.

Small announcement

Lately it became difficult for me to allocate enough time to make substantial updates for the project. Because of job and all that I just can't stick to usual schedule. 

The situation probably is gonna last for a while, therefore I won't be charging patrons monthly, until I'm able to continue development in previous capacity.

Again, that doesn't mean development completely stopped, it just gonna be slower. Sorry about that.

Build 0.06.5

-The adaptation of slightly modified Rig of MC was not so simple. I thought the changes I made gonna affect only H-scenes, but in fact I had to edit every single animation and pose. And I pretty much learned my lesson to not mess with the Rigs, that have bunch of stuff assigned to them.

-Also I spent some time to make minor corrections to models and textures across all characters. Transparency shader for partner is much cleaner now, without pesky internal geometry.

Second item on the list

Finished modeling of the little guy, however in the process he became more red than green.

Next is gonna be work on MC rig, hopefully it won't take forever. 

I'm aware that development moves somewhat slow, but it's not always easy to balance time between my job and this project, can't do much about it.

Environment Redesign

Here's some screenshots of how reworked lobby looks. Layout is basically the same, but now it's built in more modular fashion, which will allow easier addition of new sections if needed. And it even has floor and ceiling! Also for consistency I added some decorations and new lighting in other rooms.
