For this scene I'm using the local colours (so my skin and hair pallete, and the clothes colours I chose to fit for this scene) and then putting a multiply layer of purple for nighttime, and an overlay layer of yellow for firelight. I didn't do this for the background though, I just painted that as is :).

(I also always have a paper texture overlay on the whole page, and more texture is added with the noise brush used for the firelight overlay)

went absolutely ham with face studies this month, its so hard to get things right first time without a sketch O-O. There's a lot of Cal studies (from the movie) and Billie (my OC)...the line is very blurry between them visually, basically the only difference is Billies ears stick out XD

Drawtober days 17-35

I'm sure anyone on twitter is sick of seeing this sequence, but I realised I hadn't shared it here!

Featuring Billie & Bertha again (both she/her) set in the 50's.  I read Boots of Leather, Slippers of Gold and it totally inspired their dynamic- "Two butches could be friends, but never lovers."

They had a fling in the past, before Billie went butch, and now things are ~messy~

I was pretty eager to finish by this point (late october lol) so I used way more refs to speed it up! 

I'm really happy with how far my inking has come this month, especially hatching to suggest form, which I was pretty clueless on at the start :P
