Here's my take on this month's drawing challenge for flame members! The challenge was on drawing gesture sketches, and I tried to keep these as quick and fluid as possible. I would have liked to spend some more time rendering these, but I really need to keep my drawing sessions short because of my drawing injury. But that’s OK because part of this challenge was to keep the drawing session short and focused on gesture above all else! So in a way it was good that I could not spend too m...

Hey patrons! I’ve got an announcement for you: I’ve decided to pause the Patreon in September. That means you won’t be billed that month, and I won’t be posting new Patreon content. However, you will be able to retain access to the backlog and discord community as long as you’re still signed up as a spark or flame patron.
The reason for this is because some of my arm problems have flared up again recently, and it’s gotten to a point where I ...

It’s been a while since I sat down to finalize a painting! I created some WIPs earlier this year and decided to get to work on one of the black & white sketches. I ended up developing the concept a little further as I painted in more detail, and you can see her face tilting up more and more in each WIP version, since I watned to creat a stronger relationship between her and the petals / roses! Ho...

I love collecting memories in the form of scraps and photo books. I like digging through all of the little bits and pieces I’ve collected and figuring out what they’re from and why I decided to save them. The downside is that I have lots of shoeboxes full of random receipts and snippets that still need to be sorted through and glued into a memory book. I guess I’ll get around to that when I have oceans of free time and nothing to do (which is never), haha! Here’s a speedpaint where I ...

Last summer, I went on a trip to the mountains in France. During one of the hikes we did, Arjen took a picture of me that is now one of my favorite pictures that anyone has ever taken of me. Something about the lighting, sense of scale and details just made it feel so special! I also wanted to practice my shapes a bit after the mountain studies challenge last month. I felt like there was room for improvement in drawing patches of snow on mountains, so I used the picture Arjen took as a starti...

I spent some time in my sketchbook in the last few days, just doodling random feminine stuff off the top of my head. I was also making a few quick sketches of No Girl from different angles and then I took it into Procreate and it evolved into an over-indulgent painting session! No Girl will always be my comfort zone. Hope you enjoy these ~

Take your pick from the reference images to make some quick sketches that focus on movement. This month, I really need to reboot my creativity by coming up with some painting ideas! I did a lot of rough work and sketches in the last months, and after I got back from vacation I hadn’t drawn for a while and was completely out of new ideas.
