It's always a challenge to get the amount of detail right. You have to put the focus on the most important things. Everything else can be neglected (the people in the foreground for example).

Another morning drawing of older Piet sitting in his apartment drinking coffee and thinking about nice things or people or his piano.
Two wips (I also really like the colored version without light+shadows):
Started it this morning! Maybe I'll drive it a bit further, depending on my motivation.
I imagined older Piet (20+) travelling a lot for piano performances and interviews and TV SHOWS AND STUFF because he's famous, at least in the classical world.

Ohhhhhh I tested the mood for the first scene very quickly earlier and like it so far! In the future, I want to push the colors a bit more to have more atmosphere. This requires some courage to decide on one or two main colors per scene. I'm not used to that! But I love it in other artists' art!
The trick is to choose one main color (pink/orange-y here) and make subtle shifts to get more hues instead of having lots of different colors. Low contrast in hues (eg Piets skin tone + shirt).

Whenever you see a slightly shorter haired Piet, imagine he's a bit older there (like in the first picture; that's university student!Piet). When he has the duck-tail-in-the-back-hairdo, he's a kid or teen.

Phew, finally done with this scene. 26/~49 pages finished of chapter 4.
It's all about Piet and Henry and yes, it's raining, so they're outside for a while which is nice (yay for nature backgrounds!).
I need to take a look at these pages with a fresh eye. It still seems a little too emotional/not realistic BUT that's also fun to draw XD
FUN FACT: It's super hard to draw Henry looking like a 15 year old ... that guy is like ... 18 in my head. They are both 15 for god's sake. 15. ...

Yes, I made a collection of my digital artworks I did in 2016 and 2017. They will be printed in november. The only issue is that I will sell them in Germany only (at first) because of taxes. Each country has its own tax regulations which makes it rather difficult. Sooo sorry about that; I'd love to sell them internationally!...
