Hello everyone; thanks for all the kind words last week. As of now, I'm feeling a lot better, and getting back into the swing of things. I finally managed to draw a couple things over the last few days, which really helped. I'll probably never get over the death of my cat Anya, but I'm definitely learning to move on. Hey everyone; sorry for being so quiet these last few days. I had to put my cat down last Friday, and it's been a rough week ever since.

After burying her in the backyard and crying on and off for two days, I've just been feeling emotionally drained, lacking any motivation to draw or do anything creative. I've been keeping myself busy with work and chores, but all I really feel like doing is just lying in bed all day.

Just testing out the new "Benefits" tracker thingy

Just a heads up everyone; I just tried out the Benefits tracker that Patreon has just added, and have added appropriate benefits to each tier. They haven't changed, but hopefully this will make it easier to keep track of everyone's rewards.

A Valuable Lesson Has Been Learned

Don't care too much for how this came out; it's not even half-finished. I mostly just wanted to get this idea on paper before it vanished from my mind. Next time I draw this I'll work on bigger paper.

One thing I found that helps when doing art studies is using both photos and drawings as references. Photos are good for learning proper perspective, anatomy and proportions, but drawings and studies that other people have done can help you get an idea of how to render them well on paper. Photos should always be your main source of reference of course, but looking at how other people have drawn things can help too (so long as they're not too stylized).
