It feels weird to not update with a new page today. I already can't wait to come back, energized, and ready to crank out more pages! I'm excited to make, and share, the rest of chapter two!

There will still be a bonus comic for Monday. And I might still do some things over the holidays. But mostly I want to get ahead on the writing/story boarding, and also just... take a break. 😅
Today I'm sharing this quick timelapse video from last weeks page. I already had the roughs in place, but you get the idea. This took somewhere between one and a half, and two hours.
I had to post it on youtube, it seems 18+ accounts aren't allowed to upload videos. 😒
Fun Fact. It's incredibly fuzzy so I would never expect anyone to see it, but Spiffers lives above Flare's sink. You Can spot him in the Bacon eps. He is NOT to be used for cleaning, however... cleaning brushes belong in the kitchen, it's just the way it is. (Flare logic)
Whelp... A lot of you saw this coming. Also confirming that yes... these collars can be used for dubious purposes. Flare's never gonna let him off the leash after this. 😅
So, there seems to be interest for this. Process pics, model sheets, roughs, concept sketches, general junk I generate in the process of getting the final page. Also, another reward for the roar tier, other than early access. yay! 😁
There's probably not as much as you'd think. One of the benefits of doing this all myself is, I kinda know what I want already, so a few quick sketches usually gets the job done. Also, I try not to spend much time on design, my focus is always on fast, and efficient, to try and get as much story/comic done as I can. You can really get trapped in a design loop, and waste a lot of time if your not careful, since designing characters is fun.
So with that in mind, expect some sloppy model sheets lol.
First up, these are two panels from this weeks page. Thumbnails are very loose, the first thing I put down, to get the idea of posing and layout. Then I tighten it up with roughs. And then I go on to clean-up, and colour. I only paint lighting on characters in dramatic scenes, shadows and lighting effects take time, and I wanna be fast and efficient.
Second, this is how I approach BG's. I try and keep them simple, BG's are time consuming. I grabbed a bunch of pics off the internet, for mood/ideas, then sketch on the BG in the thumbnail stage. For this one, I made a very simple 3d mockup, since I knew I'd be redrawing from multiple angles, and this is helpful for perspective. Then I just use the final panel as reference.

It's these guys again! They've made it a tiny bit further. And hey, who's that back there... Also, to contrast how well Elias speaks Drakonreid. Ellwin has been with Rage for over twenty years, and still struggles. To be fair, he is NOT a good teacher. lol.
I might make this page a regular public page in the future. It is dipping a bit far into important main story territory. But I didn't think of this 'till it was done, so for now It's the bonus page, and that's a future me problem. Thanks all! 🧡

We're well in to the patreon now. I'm curious how people are enjoying the bonus content. Specifically, the NSFWness of it. The goal of the bonus comics has been to provide an extra story tidbit on the current page, without it taking away from the free comic. But that doesn't always lead to a NSFW situation. I guess you could say this is a horniness gauge. 😅
So, would you rather...
1. Keep the focus on the main arc, with flare and elias, which provides limited NSFW options, but lots of cuteness and sillyness.
2. OR, Would you like more side stories, with non-main characters, that will provide more NSFW opportunities. Such as Ymmereth and her pet, or Rage and his little human harem. (the only two really NSFW pages so far)
3. OR I could just make totally random bonus comics exploring the world more, it's various races and magic and what not. (I assume You'd rather follow the main story, but what do I know!?)
I swear next weeks bonus comic won't be Flare cuddling something. 😅

As always, it's also on the site. Dragonesssayssit.com Okay, tiny bit of worldbuilding. To avoid spoilers I won't get in to ages yet, but Ymmereth is a very mature dragon. Which is why she's more dragony in her shifted form. Let's just say, she doesn't shift as well as she used to. It also explains her extreme dominant behavior. I don't wanna get in to it too much, but, the more mature a dragon gets, the more... dragony they get. I.e. everything is mine. 😋 If she shows up again... ima have to 3d render those horns or sumthin', ugh.
