I finally finished snow physics! You can run around leave tracks in the snow and experience a new Minecraft! I suggest creating a world with only a single biome (>snowy slopes< this one especially, snowy taiga or snowy plains) to get the best experience. Shaderpack used in the screenshots is "Complementary Shaders". This update is currently only available for Fabric because I am going on vacation. Nonetheless I hope you enjoy this update!

Just added the modulation layer to give the snow a little bit of detail. Going to work on inprints in the snow when you walk over it next. After that performance improvements and in case the performance gets really good I might be able to bump the resolution of the snow so the bumps look better!

I know there hasn't been an update on snow physics for a while. Simply because it is a huge undertaking (even if it might not seem like it). This is a simple showcase of the major tech implemented. Level of detail meshes and the snow blocks transformed into voxels. What is missing: a modulation layer so that it actually looks like snow and no longer as blocky as shown (like little bumps everywhere). The final thing of course will look much better!

Finally finished the backports of the Mod as promised by my Patreon goal! Thank you so much for the support! Available for Forge and Fabric! Liquid physics don't work in 1.16.5 due to the old OpenGL version so that people with old PCs can still use it! When using Fabric 1.16.5 you will need to wait for Iris 1.2.1 or greater. It does crash with older versions (you could also compile the latest version from their github page).

Apart from the small bugfix I got some good news for people that play Minecraft 1.17.1 and 1.16.5: I've started porting the mod back to those versions. 1.17.1 for Fabric is already finished. Once done I will maintain those versions as well. This will mean less frequent updates since I need to test 6 different versions and mod compatibilities. But it shouldn't slow down feature development as a whole just the frequency of the patreon uploads :)

Trapdoors now work as intended and vines got an update as well so that the stiffness and damping now works as intended.

Big performance improvement for liquid physics. Block range now goes to 40 blocks and added multithreading for liquids.

Liquid physics tech coming along very nicely! I will add liquids to not only water but also blocks like water melons or slime blocks (will be customizable in the settings). This video just shows a very low detail liquid. Will be improved in the final release! 🙂

I was working on the sound effects for the physics mod recently because we hit the patreon target for it. Unfortunately I need to delay this for a bit until a certain feature gets added to the current PhysX wrapper (namely impact forces to adjust the volume and pitch based on the force).
