I've done shoots recently where I've got a video camera in one hand and my phone in another, but if the footage is good enough, I pull stills that I think stand on their own. Sometimes they are also like little bits of storytelling that show personality which I missed when using another still camera or phone at the same moment. Such is the way with these of Alice.

This was our first shoot with my new Camp Snap 8 digital 8mm, using the vintage setting. Sawyer's her usual performer self in a very public space to the mild NSFW refers to her dress slipping down multiple times. Thankfully we were left alone during our highly suspicious activity. For those that don't know, Sawyer is like 6 ft tall and heavily tattooed on top of having the aura of a goddess, very very very noticeable in all things she does!

Maya has an experimental artist spirit that matches my own and when viewing the footage we did on the new video camera, I heard one or two things either of us said that would be weird as part of the still grabs. I ended up making a whole series of these images and think it's the start of something more where the on-set conversation becomes part of the final art.

This is an experimental film I made using a Ingmar Bergman-meets-Grave of the Fireflies still photoshoot I made with my kids in White Sands, New Mexico in 2018.
