How anyone can one pass up an opportunity to take a naked picture in an outdoor shower is beyond us.
(BTW, we are headed up to a cabin in north eastern Arizona this morning--will be on and off the grid, but we will be in 70 degree temps vs 110.....)

If you've been following along on our Instagram Stories and in our Patreon feed a bit, you'll know that we have gained accessed to a gorgeous backyard of a clothing optional Air BnB. A client asked us to shoot her there. We were introduced to the wonderfully kind owners. And, they invited us to book more shoots.

As far as The Naked Desert goes the Petrified Forest & Painted Desert National Park is pretty much where we gather our life energy from. We love this place. We love shooting here. And, I think the results speak for themselves.
Although, Death Valley, White Sands, and the Bisti Badlands are on the list next, you can't beat this location just 3 hours north.

Just a quick, small set from Monday's shoot at a clothing optional Air Bnb. It was a beautiful house with a gorgeous back yard. We found out about it while doing client work, met the owners, and now for a small fee have photographer's access. It is a perfect option for when trekking an hour out into the desert just will not work.....

About 2hrs from and 7000' ft higher than Phoenix is the gorgeous Mogollon Rim--a place more closely related to Colorado than the Grand Canyon. This special place provides a respite from the summer heat--one of the best kept secrets of our state.
So while the compositions we had planned at the Petrified Forest National Park did not work out, we made a break for this beautiful creek on our way home, and are more than happy with the results!

One of the reasons we love Arizona so much is the diversity in environments and landscapes. And, while we definitely prefer the stark and desolate beauty of the desert, we can easily switch to something green and lush--a place that looks more akin to the Pacific Northwest versus the Sonoran Desert. Case in point: this lovely creek about 90mins, but a world away from the Petrified Forest National Park.

Christy (IG: @spilled_milk___) will always have a special place in our hearts.

Kelsea (IG: kfrav) drove to Prescott, AZ, with another "nude-in-nature" photographer, James Ellingen (IG: @jamesellingen) back in March. They planned to do a multi -month roadtrip/photography tour initially, but then the corona virus came. Instead they decided to stay in Prescott. Around April some mutual acquaintances put us in contact with one another, and luckily for us, we were able to connect with Kelsea for our first shoot since March.

Its been 110 degrees or hotter here over the last three days--making desert photoshoots somewhat dangerous. But, well, we found a cool cave with great light and protection from the sun. And, well, we started going out a 1am to try to take pictures with the Milky Way.

Well, we are open to shooting clients and models now. It's exciting to get out again, but also frustrating dealing with inevitable flakiness. We had a model booked for Sunday, but then "something came up" a few hours before. <shrug>
We ended up using our free time for some location scouting, found a cool cave with some interesting light, and Elle was able to come up with some great shapes and lines. We will work more here in the future--already lining up more shoots :)...

So very sorry! We have been a bit more silent and inactive than usual here on our Patreon site. Quite honestly, life got pretty busy these past two weeks, we haven't shot much, I haven't edited much, and frankly I just was not in front of the computer much.

It's getting hot here in Arizona--about a week straight of 100+ degree temperatures. Luckily for us we know some spots to cool off while also maintaining social distance. In fact we are farther away from much less people here than we are in our own neighborhood.
Many states are gradually opening up again. We hope to regain our photography momentum again. Can't wait to start creating again :)

The Little Painted Desert is an abandoned county park near Winslow, AZ. (Yep, that Winslow of RT66 and The Eagles fame ;). Last October, we got together with Jaime (@fine_lines__ on Instagram) to try to put together an artistic set. I tell you it is an absolutely stunning barren, badland landscape that pops with fiery color at sunset.

Been taking a free MOMA online course on the philosophy of photography during this pandemic lock down. And, seemingly the "art" of photography has a lot to do with intent. We ask ourselves: is a picture of the moon's surface artistic if the intent of the astronaut was to just document it? Well, what if the intent is to capture "beauty" within a seeming inhospitable, barren place?
Anyway, we are sure getting antsy in wanting to create some beautiful images ...
